Midweek birthday treat

Location , attentiveness of staff from initial call to check out, comfortable bed.
A lovely midweek treat. Menu was varied and food was delicious. Waitress was so attentive as it was my boyfriends birthday and we were guests. Room was a bit hot during the night but it's furnished nicely and well kept. Stayed here before and will stay again even though I live no more than 30 mins away.

Home from home

The place is few meters from public transport, the room has everything you need and the staff are very very nice.
The location is great. I was made feel welcome and breakfast was EXCELLENT. The rooms could do with freshen up the paint but they are tastefully decorated and the bathroom is once and clean. Great value for price considering the location. I will definitely be back at the first opportunity.

Misled by the 4* status and boutique advertising.

Staff, near underground and breakfast
Being used to staying in hotels I quickly realised that the status was for an Inn or B&B. I did feel advertising a bit misleading. Nevertheless the staff were friendly and cleaned the room after I pointed out its bad state in the bathroom. The meal in the pub was good but although the wine list was good the stock wasn't there. For one night it was adequate and suited my needs for this trip but wouldn't recommend for hotel dwellers

A most welcoming hotel with very tasteful decor

Staff, atmosphere and decor
Slightly difficult to find, and only pay-and-display parking near the entrance, but worth the effort.

Short, friendly but very basic.

Nice staff. Good bathroom. Complimentary drink on late arrival.
It's not a 4 star hotel as advertised but a 4 star inn. There is a huge difference. We paid over 100 euro a night and it wasn't worth it. Some bad design in a very small room. Plug was broken in our sink. No shower curtain or shower mat so a very wet floor. The worst thing was that every inch of the floor in our room squeaks badly. Also beer barrels being delivered at 6 in the morning to the pub below and a very rickety mattress. And very dirty hall areas. Damp patches on the walls and the stairs badly need hovering. Sorry.

friendly pub hotel in heart of hackney

helpful staff, nice breakfast, complimentary drinks on arrival
fine. had to book at the last minute due to problem with previously booked accommodation. the food is good, the beer is reasonable well kept, the rooms are tidy with nice touches like proper ground coffee and tea. Very nice breakfast. Laid back and helpful staff

Friendly staff

The staff was friendly and really helpful. They know how to make people smile. We´d half board, so we didn´t really need to spend money on food, unless we wanted to. The inn was also cheap to stay at.
The inn is an old building, so we asked beforehand if we´d have a room from the upper floor. We got one, so we didn´t need to listen to other people walking above our head. We lost electricity one morning but it´s repaired right away. The hairdryer didn´t work but got one from another room. I guess the hairdryer doesn´t work in room number . :) The food was good but they never had rabbit or mullet. What they did have was ok. Half board is a good deal. 15£ per person per dinner. We basically paid only for the drinks. Breakfast was ample. We just got bored with it since we stayed almost a week. Bathroom´s big enough but the towels are changed randomly and only one at a time. It´s amusing... But whenever we´d a problem, we got help from the staff. We liked them a lot. Because of them our stay´s nice and we enjoyed it.

classy hotel in the deep dark Hackney

nice staff, good breakfast, location
Overall quite pleased. Everyone was friendly, nice little touches like proper ground coffee and cafetiere instead of grotty sachets of instant nescafe. Biggest problem with this hotel is that there is no normal phone number (the 0844 number listed didnt work from abroad),so there is no way of contacting the hotel before your stay to discuss important things like parking facilities. lesser problem was the noise outside at night - but this is hackney. They didnt tell us breakfast was later on sundays - it's a 9. When we came down at 8am we thought that all occupants of the building had been beamed up into space.

not a good experience of stay

none expect the transportation
- false fire alarm in one night, however there is not staff in the hotel and the emergency number are wrong. we need to call the fire alarm company to contact the staff - the boiling bottle is dirty - fair breakfast with good taste of bread - only one towel for the toilet - unstable wifi with no wifi password provided
