Good Enough for a Province

Considering that this is a hotel located in the province, the services was good. However, I think that the hotel still lacks things to be considered as a 5-star hotel. 1) ROOM. The room was clean and comfortable. However, I think the bathroom would be better with additional lighting. There also appears to be times when the key card malfunctions, although they are very quick to change it. Water in the bathroom was very strong. 2) VIEW. Although our room was situated at the back, the hotel itself had a very good view of the city and more importantly, the Mayon volcano, which I think is the main reason why travellers visit the area. 3) TV CHANNELS. I think that the hotel provides enough tv channels for sufficient viewing. 3) INTERNET. I could not rely on the internet of the hotel. More often than not, it is not working. I brought my own portable broadband but the signal of the provider was also not that consistent. 4) SWIMMING POOL. During our first day, they were filling it with water. My nephew and mother enjoyed swimming in it during our second day. Although, the pool is a little bit small if you would want to do some laps. A plus, however, is that there is a children's pool. 5) TAXI AVAILABLITY. It is difficult to easily get a taxi from the hotel if you would just want to go to just one point within the city. However, if you would get a taxi for tour purposes, then it should not be a problem. 6) BUFFET. I think that the buffet was good enough. However, for foreigners who would want a

Our Overnight Stay

Unfortunately the room we stayed in was below the standards of the hotel, Shower glass door was broken hinges were loose and it may cause accident, Shower was broken, WC Flush was broken, AC was not functioning efficiently, and there was a foul smell at the toilet which we eventually reported to house keeping but what they did to remove the smell was exaggerated, after cleaning the toilet they applied too much of a toilet perfume or something. The smell was too strong that kept us awake the whole evening because the smell was overwhelming. WE have to keep the exhaust fan on all the time but even though when I went inside around 5am the smell of the perfume was still too much. But it was something I have to bare or I cannot use the bathroom. What is sad about this was we told the concierge about it and told her that we want to talk to the manager to report the incident but was told he was not available. asked for a supervisor, same answer. So we just left for our ATV activity but informed the concierge we will be to talk to them before we leave around 12 nn. Time came, we were packed and checked out but still manager was not available, we were told he will come over from 12 noon to pass 1pm be he never came and we were just informed he was busy. BUSY TO ATTEND TO A CUSTOMER'S CONCERN? It was just so happen that there was female supervisor who we saw and told her about the incident took notes of our concern and told us she will get back to us even asked for our emails. BUt unfortunately until this time no feedback or letter from the hotel management. I am writing this not to bad mouth this wonderful hotel, but for them to improve their services. To be honest I love this hotel for it value for money and it's perfect location. BUT PLEASE IMPROVE YOUR SERVICE. Hate to see what was a perfect place we went to last 2012 was degrading instead of upgrading.

Overall, it was fair. Nothing exceptional though buffet breakfast was good and the view was nice. Ordering a drink at the swimming pool area took almost an hour. Some staff weren't courteous. Staff did not have the initiative to carry our bags during check out (from lobby to parking area).

Oriental Stay December 27 to 30

Been in this Hotel August of 2012, It was a great experience, that's why we came back. Staff now were good but they were more accommodating and friendly before. Food needs improvement but for the price its still Value for money. It would be nicer to have Ac at the lobby and the hall ways. Maybe because of the Holidays we were able to get in our rooms an hour late ( 3PM ). The place needs to be Maintained and some repair works needs to be done asap. But over all it was still good and we will be back again.

Bad Service of the Manager, prob not solve immedia

the food and view also the people who assist us with the luggage

We wont be back. Manager was rude, not approachable. We decided decided to extend 1night due to the typhoon and we know there is aircondition in that type of hotel but fpr the rate of room we were using elect fan, I checked other hotel and ac functioning well. I regret staying at oriental. We ask for discount but the Manager doesnt want to but in the end give us 550 discount only with 5,250 rate room without aircon. We are very dissapointed. Even the first day ac is really a peoblem no storm yet and we called for how many times, they responded very late.

Waiting a long time for service
