Guests here will be within reach of fascinating exploration, including centuries old temples, rice paddy fields, and a graceful river. The Night Market and Sunday Walking Market are great places to pick up souvenirs and Thai artifacts before you head back home. Learn to cook your favorite Thai dishes, hop on a bicycle to explore the countryside, or take the sailing boat into the river. At the resort, take your meals in a relaxing, open-air setting by the river. Nature forms an integral part of The Puka Boutique Resort, and it helps guests relax as they take in the surroundings.

relaxing retreat from the city

relaxing setting, helpful staff, great rooms
8.3
It was a great place to spend our last couple nights in Chiang Mai. Very relaxing setting in the countryside. While this would not seem like a place for families there were a few there and the kids were very noisy, taking away from the relax and quiet ambiance of the place. Not sure it's a very kid friendly location as there isn't much for them to do besides the pool which is quite small. It isn't very relaxing to sit there while they splash around and yell. I would think parents would take kids to properties that are a bit more child friendly.

My wife and I stayed here 2 nights to get away from the noise in Chiang Mai. The grounds were not a lush as the images showed, but we did enjoy our stay. If you want peace and quiet this is a good option. We used their bikes to pedal to a local restaurant; I suggest going with a car or motorbike to get around.

Beautiful surroundings and big rooms, lovely personel

Absolutely beautiful, huge rooms, fascinating views, good size pool but everything a bit sufering of lack of maintanance. If domething was broken, it had been left like that. Oh, and do not belive the fotos of their food! Very good home cooking (we had all our lunches and dinners there) but nothing like the fotos.

Only a short stay but found room very useable and enjoyed that large size and separate toilet from bathroom. Resort is good value for money based on the room but you will need a car to access both resort and Chiang Mai points of interest as its about 30 mins from town. Staff are attentive and included breakfast was nice and there was enough for me to be satisfied. Resort is alongside the river but you cannot see this except perhaps from top floor of the ace block. It was built into what was probably a rice field. Furnishings are pleasant enough..bed a little hard for Westerner but ok. Rooms showing a little age and cleaning about 90% but have nice character and good facilities including wifi. I would be happy to return.

An Oasis

Great food, lots of space and very peaceful
9.3
We returned here after 2 years to find Puka was still as good as before. Very peaceful during the day, lots of spaces to hang out in (the library upstairs is perfect for working or reading) great food made if ordered in advance, and good comfortable beds. They do, however, need to update their A/C systems as they are old and cranky, and it would be nice to have some more cupboards in the rooms.
