Quiet location
Spacious Room, Quiet Location and Pleasant Staff
I read many reviews on this property before I finally booked. I was travelling with my 12 year old daughter and did have concerns. I was however impressed with the property. Our room was lovely, clean and spacious. The breakfast was good and if we required anything extra it was provided without a hassle. The location however is not great. In saying that it was $4 (AUD) to get a tuk tuk into the centre of town. There are no restaurants nearby, which didn't concern me greatly as I ate local food. The staff were pleasant and happy to provide advice when asked.

The front desk staff member was very helpful
Broken toilet seats, a duty manager who apparently runs 2 hotels (he was here for about 1 hour total of our 3 night stay). The location is very poor and a long way from anything to see, shop or eat. If you decide to stay, be prepared to take transport where ever you want to go and DO NOT leave anything of value in your room, even if popping out for a few minutes. There are far better options for this price.

Interesting historical building and contents in a
1)welcoming and helpful attitude 2) nothing much trouble 3) Adrian's help to sort out a problem with a tour we had booked
When we arrived we were tired. Adrian rustled up meals and drinks at short notice we appreciated. He also arranged a short sightseeing trip at a reasonable cost. We were recommended to go to an excellent Chinese restaurant nearby. All the staff were very polite and helpful. Adrian also made a call to sort out a problem for us with another booking. All in all a pleasant comfortable, no hassle stay.

Design, breakfast and friendliness
We enjoyed it here with a really superb breakfast offer The hotel feels Sti Boutique and is easily connected into the centre The staff were very helpful and friendly Only one issue - the concrete bathroom floors very sloppy and dangerous when wet - needs sorting out before there is an accident Looks cool and up to date and part if the boutique genre but impractical for a bathroom floor

Good hotel for a quiet and relaxing stay
quiteness...secludes area...and the staff
Would recommend this hotel for those wishing to relax and spend time in a quiet place away from hustle bustle of city. The was a bit hard to find and hence make sure you have a print out map from reservation site. Its not a regular hotel but a new concept of boutique hotel...do not expect the usual aminites of a Hotel like Bar, Restaurant or swimming pool. The staff is friendly and straight foreward and very helpful to make your stay a comfortable one. Dont expect entertainments associated with a regular hotel but those wishing for a quite relaxing stay would enjoy the stay...the rooms are clean . The sri lankan breakfast provided is very very tasty and leaves a lasting impression. Its more of a homestay in a residential area than a commercial hotel...thumps up to the boutique hotel

bed bugs and dustmites beware
terrible stay. the room was dark and dingy. it felt like a cell. there was not light as the windows were boarded up. ended up having rashes from bed bugs, the room was dusty, and the bathroom didn't look clean either. was very disappointed as the pictures and previous reviews were good. opt for somewhere else, or you will have to buy calamine lotion in the middle of the night!
