Calamitous stay in room.
It is generally accepted that when one books a room it possesses the same attributes as your own home. Why then would a hotel place you in the basement with no windows and a back door that backs onto the driveway. A driveway full of detritus which was not moved when the promise was given, for fear of inviting uninvited furry guests into our room the door was kept locked. There being no window and no other means apart from the dilapidated fan that possed one speed, ventilation was non existent. It was obvious that this owner is taking advantage of the converted garage, no one should be expected to stay in an unventilated room, I for one will give this hotel a wide berth and suggest that others ensure that a window is part of the contract. It was a case of when the cat is away the mice will play. The room was only serviced on our penultimate day, loo rolls ran out and their answer was to provide a half used one to bide us over the next 24 hours. The whole place was a joke, hand towels were provided instead of bath towels. We only experienced the morning breakfast buffet, unfortunately the bread selection and allocation was as mean as the room standards, arrive early for breakfast to ensure a piece of bread. You can choose from either white or white as the brown was used sparingly. Finally there is no parking, unless you are prepared to relinquish your car keys since the driveway holds only 2- 3 cars, permit driving is provided ...providing it has not already been taken by other hotel patrons. In essence my stay was not enjoyable, had it not been the sea food festival the whole week end would have been a disaster.

Friendly and helpful staff.
This is a family-run hotel which caters for leisure visitors. While we were there there was one other 'individual' visitor. The rest were in a party which had arrived by coach for a special hotel sponsored event. The atmosphere was casual and friendly. The hotel programme boasts live events in the bar several evenings in the week. The wifi in the other lounge was adequate but I was unsure whether I was using the hotel's wifi or that of a neighbour. The dining room in the basement echoed noise generated by the guests; soft furnishings of some sort might improve the acoustics.
Hotel Feature Tip: Try to reserve a space in the limited car park at time of booking
