uncomfortable, grubby and miserable room

city centre location
We were sent to the wrong room. The room was dark, miserable, tatty and uncomfortable. The TV must have been 40 years old and the bathroom was in dire need of a refurb. The bed was in fact 2 beds shoved together with a very hard mattress and flimsy sheet. The location, whilst handy for the pubs, was extremeley loud all night so got no sleep. Then the breakfast which they laughingly called Continental, was little more than tea and toast.

Excellent value, central location

City location, historic building, spacious dining area.
Excellent value for money. Room was very clean. Our room faced a back lame and we did encounter some noise from a nightclub/bar nearby but not too bad. Our stay was early June and weather had warmed up, there was no air conditioning. Continental breakfast was very good and dining area nice and open. The building has a lot of history, originally The Bank of Scotland.

great central hotel with a few glitches

location, history
converted old bank, sir thomas is a great central hotel in liverpool. there are a few things that were annoying - only one card key per room which didn't necessarily work all the time and the less than sound proof windows in our room on the first floor. but it is well worth the pricetag as the location and comfort of the room make up for the other things. there is a free wifi, but no always reliable.

Best location and good price

Very close to the shopping centre, All you can eat Chinese restaurants, train stations
The only thing that we didn't like is that it is very noisy when it is past midnight. It would always awakened us. The free continental breakfast was okay. Juice and tea are unlimited. Good to stay at for a night or two.

Great location

Before you could go upstairs to your room, you need to open that locked door downstairs which is an added security.
It was all okay. The front desk staff aren't so friendly though. We just pass by without being greeted or even noticed when we go out somewhere. Even a smile will do.

good and bad

checking in at hotel was ok, room was worn out with stained furniture and urine smell from toilet/shower room, first night was no problem good location for all sight seeing /bars/night-life and good breakfast. second night Saturday, was worst night experience we have ever had in a hotel room,it seamed several people who where not guests were allowed to enter the hotel in the early hours 0330 passing reception, and congregate out side of bedrooms causing a huge amount of noise/nu sense these people where trying other doors whilst others were asleep this felt very threatening, and carried on until 0630 even after numerous calls to reception. This could of been a one off incidence, but it should of never been allowed to happen at all and security to hotel should be updated with only paying guests allowed especially in the early mornings
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: close to all sight seeing and ideal for Matthew St night-life
