fantastic hotel - great place to stay
Great Facilities - Great Location
we had the best stay at the village coconut island resort. we were upgraded to a grand sea view pool villa with 3 bedrooms, which was fantastic. the food and service second to none.
Hotel Feature Tip:
The onsite Mini Mart is very expensive - Island just 5mins from mainland - would recommend getting snacks, alcohol, sunscreen etc from the mainland.

Great Hotel with Amazing Features
The views, the amenities, the pool, friendly staff, the spa.
The Village on Coconut Island was a gorgeous resort on a beautiful beach. Our room was great and our private Jacuzzi was even better. The pools were so great and relaxing and we really enjoyed the friendly staff and the day boat trips made available by the resort. Also the spa created a very relaxing and enjoyable experience.
The hotel breakfast that came with our reservation was very good, however that was offered for lunch and dinner was a little over priced compared to typical Thai prices. However, they just got new management and we were told they were working on that. Overall, this place was beautiful and I wouldn't hesitate about going back.

This resort is just beautiful like the pictures. It is a little far from everything but quiet and there are no crowds here. It is good for people who wanna enjoy their time without parties. People there are very nice and friendly. We had a great time there.
As for power cut, we did have several times during our stay but it came back in 5 mins after the blockout. It didn't cause too many problems at all.
it is a little far from everywhere and taking taxi from the pier is costly.

beautiful hotel but disappointing seawater
The resort, the garden, the pools and the surrounding are beautiful. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The slide in the garden is very funny, you should not miss it. The sea is, however, a little bit disappointing, because it is not cristal clear as you would expect it. Nevertheless, there is a small island called Rang Yai oppositely to the beach of the resort, where you can find a beautiful beach with cristal clear water. Boat trips go there every day from the resort. The other negative point is that there are not enough deckchairs and beach umbrellas on the beach of the resort.

Some great features
new, well designed, lovely pools, fun water slide, nice place for families
this resort has many great features - friendly staff in general especially Annie at reception, there is a kids club, two restaurants, two infinity pools & two water slides. One is very fast & kids & adults both enjoy it.
A couple of cons - the beach is NOT a swimming beach. The sand is clean & white near the resort but the water is not clear and at low tide is a mud flat. Also, they advertise that you get picked up in a boat & taken to the front entrance pier but they are only using the back, public pier at the moment & you enter the resort from the back entrance which is no impressive at all
The rooms are a good size & generally in good condition. The Jacuzzi is open to a grass field & other suites, so not very private.
Do a trip to Khai island - it is amazing, pure white sand, beautiful clear water with all sorts of tropical fish. It is in no way a deserted island though, you will share it with possibly hundreds of other tourists, but if you hire your own long tail boat, you can come & go as you please and we had the beach all to ourselves for at least a hour after lunch

Water, pools & ocean
if you like water, you will love this place - big stand alone bath tubs, your own jacuzzi, 2 good sized pools & water slides, plus the ocean
it had a lovely family atmosphere here. the houses with pools looked great and the people i met in the hotel that were staying in them were very happy with them.
there are quite a few ex pat staff in the resort, so language shouldn't be a problem in the future.
the only disappointing thing was the ocean was not the clear water like in karon beach & no one really swam in it, although it is lovely to sit by & watch the view.
I had a wood fire pizza here at the resort and was a bit disappointed - it was soggy in the middle & not as tasty as I had hoped. Prices are triple what you would pay in other parts of Thailand - actually, even more for simple things like fried rice & curries, but the rooms do have hotplates, a kettle & fridge.

Awesome spot for a quiet break!
Beautiful spot away from the noise and smells of downtown patong
Beautiful place, would be awesome without children, but u can't have everything.
We payed extra for a private 2 bed pool villa with sea views, worth every cent!! The two restaurants have good food. Great place to just chill out and do nothing. We were there for our honeymoon, was a great end to our trip!

Second time a disappointment
On an island, own pool (or jacuzzi), nice style villas
We have now stayed in Coconut Island Phuket twice. The first time, we
found the staff somewhat friendly and the journey to the peer felt
very exotic and exquisite.
However the quality of the villas left a lot to be desired. During a
rainstorm our entire bedroom flooded and the downstairs flooded. We
had to use all our towels to dry this up and unplug everything. We
also noticed the electricity was not consistent and the wifi was
really terrible. If you want to access the internet you really need to
invest in a Thai dongle.
The restaurants are really over priced on the resort for what you get.
There are also a large number of stray dogs running free on the land
which is very dangerous considering there are so many children there.
We were eating dinner one night and the dogs broke into a fight and
attacked each other and frightened a lot of people on their way to
Another thing that we found intolerable was the service to the main
land. When you wanted to go, you went to reception and waited for an
amount of time then got into an overfull golf caddy and drove for 5-10
minutes to the port. This drive was windy and felt very much like
cattle being herded, this was a huge change to the first time we were
there and you boarded the boat at a large open pier near the
restaurants and it felt exotic. This felt like a bad package holiday.
The only plus is that you have your own pool in your villa, however
for the price this resort should not be marked as a special
experience. It is far from it. You do not feel special and the staff
are rude and unfriendly.
If they marketed themselves as a 'cater for yourself' type of place
maybe people would not be so let down, but the whole place feels,
rushed and the management seem out of their depth completely. They
seem to have hooked the market and are concentrating on that
I would not recommend it if you want a special experience. You will be let down.

third time was not a charm
This was our third visit to The Village so our hopes were high and our expectations based only on our previous stays - both in early 2011 and both giving rave reviews! Unfortunately this experience was anything but similar to our previous stays. Prices on everything were higher. Previously complimentary services now carry hourly charges (ie: babysitting). Room service order quality and timing was, at best, unpredictable. The attentiveness and efficiency of the staff (aside from the restaurant staff) has degraded terribly. When we tried to boom the "daily snorkeling beach trip" at 1500 baht per person, we were told one hour before departure that the outing that day would be cancelled because the boat instead was rented to s tour group?!
The facility's themselves are still well-maintained and clean but it seems to be the last hold out for this resort unless things dramatically change. Assuming that these differences are due to lack of income/quality control/caring in general, it's very sad to see that this fairly new resort has downgraded so terribly in such a short amount of time. Maybe the management is more concerned with selling the time shares instead of daily/weekly rentals? With experiences like ours, that will be a long uphill battle to win that one. Shame.
All in all, Phuket has always been good to us and we truly had thought that we'd found 'the' place for our family's many get always there. Sadly, this was certainly our last here. The search will have to continue...
Hotel Feature Tip:
For advance booking of the airport car service we were charged 1500 baht. Making the booking ourselves at the pier for the return trip to the airport was only 800 baht. Certainly not worth the 'convenience' of planning ahead as there are plenty of great transportation options both to/from the airport for almost half the cost you'll be charged using The Village's booking system.
