My best holiday at the Malay Quarter

Location, Food quality and serving portions, the Skybar
I liked the vibe and the feel of the location, the staff at the hotel and the Kos restaurant were super.

Simple place...good location

Good value lodge...but very small rooms. Restaurant and staff were good...but Rooftop Bar was too noisy for guests to sleep...bar was open to the public

Mediocre hotel in a great location.

location, location, location
We arrived and found the door locked, lights out. We were given a small room, despite the fact that larger rooms were available and not occupied. The hotel does not have wifi.

Small rooms, worst shower experience

Breakfast, breakfast, breakfast
Good location for nightlife and shopping, but I cannot recommend this hotel due to the small rooms and odd bathrooms

Absolutely Awful!

Location is the only thing this hotel has going for it - and that's NOT enough...
This hotel had previous owners who gave a damn (I stayed in 2010 and liked it enough to come back), and now has new owners who simply do not. The place is in a state of disrepair, has terrible management, incompetent and unsupervised cleaning staff, and no capacity for customer service. It's simply a disaster, and I recommend you avoid it at all costs. There are much better addresses in the area.

Over-priced..poor maintenance...Dont stay here !

None...many better value places in DeWaterkant
poorly maintained...was smart when renovated 5 years ago, but now weel below standard for the high price. many broken items in room, tv not clear, rooftop pool was green and dirty ! entry on agoda says roof top pool and lounge is for use of guests...instead many large parties of outside people were held on many night...very noisy drunk people till late...no sleep dewaterkant historical village has many choices of nice places which are much better value and quality than this !

Great hotel. Great find. Great location.

Location. Staff.
great location. lgbt folks - if you're looking for a great priced hotel convenient to the bars, this is it. walls are a little thin, but the room is sharp and comfortable. staff are exceptionally nice and the food is great too. this is a great place to stay.
Nightlife Tip: Nightlife! Everything is right there! Shopping is great too!

Great Location

The manager was rude at check in.did not even offer to assist with the luggage that was carried to the top. The staircase leading to the room was dirty. The tiles all cracked and broken. The smell from rubbish area which forms part of the court yard was unbearable. The bin in the room was all broken and dirty. The linnen was all worn out with use.The mattress was so soft and the bed was very low.The towels are thin and sagging. Breakfast was only to be served from 08h30 and I was not advised of this. I thought it was from 07h00.When I queried this with themanager he was rude and mentioned well thats how it is and I did mention it makes it difficult for a business traveller and they should advise me at check in. The place needs a facelift and a change of the staff/manager.

Second (2nd) set of traffic lights go straight across – Sea Point is signposted to the right, get into right hand lane. Third (3rd) set of traffic lights turn right into Somerset Road - drive straight passing a BP Garage on your right. Take the next left into Napier Street - "Bronx Bar" is on the corner.
