Overrated, over expensive and bad in the details

For a wannabe-boutique-hotel with this pricetag it has some way too obvious and annoying flaws. The rooms are tiny shoeboxes with the bathroom behind a see-through glass. Ventilation didn't work. The matress lies on a wooden box and not on springs, thus it's rather uncomfortable and unacceptable. The whole light scheme is based on cold white/blue light and makes the room feel very uncomfortable on top. There is no socket in the "bathroom" for the hairdryer - how could someone not think of that? Instead you have to plug it in at the coffee machine and probably tip over your freshly poured up coffee in the morning when the cable runs over it. And there's not even any kleenex in the room so you have to use toilet paper for anything. Obvious flaws, as I said, that they would notice if they tried so hard to be boutique.

Compact convenience

Small compact room great for one person
8.3
Great stay as only needed a well located room to sleep in. Very small room but that was okay as I was out. Relatively good value for money for central London. Very welcoming staff

Room too small and no window

Location , staff , location

The room was way too small and when making the booking they should make it clear there on no window - inside room does not imply no window. Should explicitly state. Felt like living in a black hole

If your hotel is only to sleep in

Location, cheese and wine , friendly staff
7.7
Great 4 nights stay at the Z hotel Soho. As far as location you can't find any better. Close to the main attractions in soho, covent garden, leicester square, oxford street, all within 5 minutes walking distance. The room is trendy , well furnished , but yes small. So if your idea of vacation is lounging in your room and taking breakfast in bed with a lazy bath then look elsewhere. The Z is for the traveler who uses his hotel to sleep shower and go. It is a shame to spend anymore time being in you room while in Soho. The staff is helpful and the complementary cheese and wine for the clients is a nice bonus. Will surely return.

Small hotel in strategic location

Good location and modern rooms

Stayed 2 nights in Z Hotel Soho. Its location is good in that it is few minutes walk to Leicester Square tube stations, Chinatown, theater land and party street. I traveled alone and took a single room which was very small but adequate (has a TV, a window and an attached shower). The only shortcoming is the thin walls which is not sound proof. I would return to this hotel.

The stay was nice. Shower was weak, room was tight but what you expect for price in Soho. Double glazing windows? 2nd floor stay. A little drift coming in :( You can't complain at the location though, well worth it if you're staying 2 nights max!! I couldn't rate the food as i never went into the cafe.
