Romantic hotel in green forest and river valley

Beautiful and historic place in Ubud, Nice Spa
My friend recommended us to stay at this wonderful and historic hotel in Ubud. It was a relaxed and quiet place in green forest along the river valley. The hotel's spa and jacuzzi are highly recommended.

Perfect location, service, place, food and staff

Place and hotel design is the best.
I enjoyed my Ubud stay mainly because of the hotel. We spent half day taking photos of the whole place. Ambience is relaxing. It's cool to wake up every morning hearing the sound of nature. Room rate we got is affordable. We booked for a non-airconditioned room but got a room with AC. Staff are hospitable and helpful. They always greet you with a smile and a simple hello. I was also surprised with the welcome drink (wine mixed with juice). :) The room we got is big, without tv (not necessary so it's ok), with tub, perfect mirror for a woman like me who's always checking oneself at the mirror. Inside room is already relaxing as it's made of wood. There is just one thing I was not comfortable - there is no bidet in the toilet so we have to use shower every time we need to wash our ass after poop. The surrounding is magnificent. I just love nature and this hotel has offered me one. Spa place is too good though spa rates are bit expensive so I just found a cheaper one outside the hotel. There are two pools we saw and are located in a jungle type spot. Though there are no nearby beach, we can enjoy swimming and relaxing in this place. If I'll be going to Bali again, I'll choose UBUD and I'll definitely go back to Tjampuhan Hotel!!!! :)
Shopping Tip: Shop at Sukawati market (around 17 km away from hotel) instead at Ubud market. Things are sold in much cheaper price and still you can bargain half the actual price being offered. If ever you will buy at Ubud market, negotiate til price is 1/4 the actual price. Trust me they will come down to that value.

impressive hotel a short walk into ubud central

the room was large and clean with a beautiful view from a private balcony. It was quiet and peaceful, set amongst beautiful forest. The pools were also set in the luscious gardens although there was very little sun coming through all the vegetation. The breakfast was very good. there was plenty of variety and we felt like we were in a restaurant. The staff were lovely and very friendly and helpful.
While the room was lovely, it was surprising that there was no tea and coffee facilities in the room or tv/dvd player at the price we paid. The free internet was very useful as we didn't bring a laptop with us. The spa was beautiful but relatively expensive.
Travel tip: There is a free shuttle service into town but we found the times were a bit difficult to work around so we walked most of the time as it is only a ten minute walk anyway.

Fantastic surroundings, Eyeful of joy

Lovely big trees, hills around. Great rooms, facilities and staff.
I had such a lovely time in the surrounds of Tjampuhan. The service was wonderful, location fantastic and the Sauna is one to check out! Highly recommended and will return again.
Hotel Feature Tip: Sauna and lovely views.

Beautiful setting, somewhat lacking in amenities.

The grounds and landscaping are stunning, really beautiful.
Rooms are large, attractive, but not particularly well-equipped. With no coffee or tea facilities in the room, we were dependent on room service for everything. This is inconvenient and expensive, even though service was excellent. No TV? I guess this is an attempt at maintaining a natural atmosphere. OK, but I like a TV neverthless. We are light eaters, and the restaurant food quickly became overwhelming: large quantities, little selection. Very little choice in snacks or small items, if you eat that way. We quickly tired of it and fled to the excellent local restaurants in the neighborhood.
Restaurant Tip: Caters to big, western appetites.

Good hotel good service and value

Restaurant is good we had breakfast included which was substantial. Pool setting great and hubby could still get to watch the AFL at the bar lounge
Room was large with plent of room for the three of us. Shower did create its own pool on the bathroom each time we used the shower. If u want kettle cups n saucers then you may need to go get them from reception after asking a couple of times. Overall staff helpful and friendly, good value, lovely setting. Not for anyone though who doesnt like stairs - theres lots
Nightlife Tip: I Poan Restaurant just over the bridge but before the Museum. Great local trio, good food reasonable price

Old building, but clean with good view

friendly staffs, good view
The hotel location is a bit far from Ubud centre, but they have free shuttle bus service. You can enjoy lush greenery view. The hotel is old, but well maintained building and beautiful garden with many flowers and birds.

Lovely old - world charm

An amazing day - spa
We had a very enjoyable stay, although our rooms were just below the road, and the paths to the rooms were up and down like a goat track. The upside of this tough, was the great views.
