Motel 6 Prices, but rooms are prison cell size

Located in Chung King Mansion, the hotel is on Nathan Road near the harbor, and located convenient to shopping and attractions in Kowloon.

On my recent trip I transited through Hong Kong several times during October, and I needed a low cost place to stay for a night at a time. I stayed at three different "hotels" in Chung King Mansion, and Tom's Guest House was the one I liked least. For single travelers, the rooms are very basic, and quite small, but I was somewhat expecting that. The problem with Tom's Guest House is that the air conditioner did not work, and the ceiling was very low with a ceiling fan which helped somewhat with the heat, but I did hurt my hand in the ceiling fan. This budget hotel option is good for single, young travelers or individuals needing a flight layover accommodation, but check for the hotels that have been recently modernized.

Staying in a rabbit-hutch

Close to public transport, Private toilet and shower, Luggage keeper

To enter the guesthouse you need to walk through the passage full of people offering you accommodation, watch, handbags etc. Then you need to wait in the queue for the elevator (5-10 minutes) and finally you can spend some nice time in the guesthouse where the rooms are very very small (like rabbit hutch) that I felt little bit claustrophobic. The bed was small but clean which was more appreciated. A/C was so noisy that we had to switch it off. Shower was so hot that I burned myself (if I knew it before I would take a coffee and tea bags with me). Overall I think it was OK when you compare it to other Hong Kong guesthouses.

My short stay was unsatisfied.

Near to shopping, near to train station and near to exhibit.

Very adequate though it was difficult to find since the entry is not directly on the street but through a shopping plaza.

This stop is easy to get to, bus from airport Chinese airport drops you off within two blocks, and the subway from Hong Kong airport drops you off within two blocks. The bus from and to Hong Kong airport is almost in front of the hotel. The best part of this is the lady who runs it, she is great, so helpful. If you want tickets somewhere, she can get a great price. Rooms are clean, and they have water, microwave and fridge for you to use.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: This is in the middle of Nathan Street, so shopping is a must. It is a few blocks down from Temple Street where there is the largest night market I have ever seen. If they make it, they sell it there also. The Avenue of the Stars by the harbor is great, So is the harbor tours. All within easy walking distant.

We loved the place, will stay there again when we go back to Hong Kong. While it was small, for the price of 1 1/2 or 2 nights somewhere else, we stayed four nights. The young girl who was taking care of it, was the best. Make us feel great.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: This place is close to all the action. The Harbor and the Walk of Stars was great.
