overpriced resort in tonsai

restaurant. bungalow. tonsai climbing
after travelling to few places in asia\thailand this place was a little bit a disappointment. the bungalows are nice but the resort is not 3stars and the hotel staff not friendly and welcoming as in other places.guess there are better places in tonsai especially considering the high price

Very clean

location for climbing
I can not see why some people are complaining about the bungalows, place was clean, staff was efficient and friendly, breakfast exellent, maybe a bit over priced. Some noice from nearby bar till 10am I've been on lot worse 3 star places.

Nice lil bungalows

Location, comfy bed
Tonsai is by far my favorite part of Krabi, it's gorgeous. Definitely worth staying in the bay just for the sunsets and sunrise and spending time on a quieter beach than Railay or Ao Nang, I would say though in the last 2 years the condition of the beach has deteriorated n unfortunately I noticed groups of people that were leaving beer bottles and rubbish on the beach... The bungalows though are a nice size, nothing fancy but the bed was comfortable and the rooms were clean. They're a short walk from the few shops n bars in Tonsai, but just far away enough for some of the loud club music to not be too much of a problem at night. Would stay here again, but mostly just because the surroundings are so nice!

Impressive surrounding better for climbing

Impresive surrouunding
The Tonsai Bay is accessible only by small boat. You must wade through water with rocky bottom approximately 100 m to the boat. It is unpleasant and dangerous especially if it is night, with luggages. (They haven't any light). Surrounding is impressive. There are nice rock masses good for climbing. For swimming you need swimming shoes because there are stone ground but near is nice beach for swimming with sand. Visibility of water is not good for snorkeling. Tonsai looks like quiet place but in spite of it is busy place. There are too much noisy boats all the time. We have disillusion from accomodation in luxury villa. Bathroom is horrible. Staffs is friendly and food is good.

Do not do it.
We left 3 days early even after paying! Firstly, the staff were incredibly rude from check in to check out. Secondly, it is beside a rubbish tip and flies everywhere. Thirdly, rooms outdated and overpriced. Fourthly, myself and my husband ate breakfast and dinner (seafood) here one day and the following day we were violently sick.Fifthly, it is hazardous to leave bay on foot and costs 300 baht for 2ppl to exit or enter by boat to railay unless you wait ages for more ppl so isolated.Seriously this place is so over rated and spoilt our holiday. I really wish we had read some honest reviews before booking! Hurrendous. If you cant afford resorts in Railay, I recommend staying in Ao Nang (lovely hotels and much cheaper) and boating to and from Railay (10 mins @ 100 baht per person.

Quiet resort by the beach

Large rooms, good food at the restaurant, by the beach
They are developing the area so the bay has been spoilt. This is not the resorts fault, another resort is being built
