Boarding house with baths

Formerly called Tomogiku, and all local signage in this name. Nothing to recommend. Service was poor and rude. Food just mediocre. 2 Ofuro mostly in use, so not available. The best part was leaving.
No reason to stay here. Many better onsen to try.

lost in japan

experience lifestyle and food
We arrive there with a lot of Euros and credit cards. However we thought that we can exchange money there somewhere to take the train or bus back to the main station. Big surprise. There is no ATM or bank or any hotel where you can exchange Euros for Yen or withdraw money to pay for a bus or taxi or to buy anything near the hotel. Huge disappointment. We were lucky when a porter at a hotel 2,5 km away, exchange Euros for Yen and we could take the train back to the Japanese Railway line. We had to walk the 2,5 km uphill. Do check that you arrive between 3:00 and 8:00 or a note will inform you to phone a number. Make sure that you know the international dialling code for Japan too.

a great and relaxing cultural experience

onsen, food, service
This is a traditional onsen Ryokan. The room is very nice and spacious tatami room with TV and aircon. They have two private onsens, and there is even a massage chair in each of the onsen rooms. Although the food was not as luxurious as we expected, it was definitely delicious! I think the owner supervised in making of every meal. The ambiance was very family like, and the staff were very kind and willing to share their culture. We didn't manage to connect to any wifi in the room, but that actually allowed us to relax and sleep early. We stayed in the Ryokan after several days of "intense sightseeing", and our tiredness and tension were totally washed away after staying there for just one night!
