About Tune Hotel Haymarket

Located in the heart of the city on Haymarket Terrace, this budget hotel has easy access to all of Edinburgh’s main attractions. Tune Hotel Haymarket is directly across the road from Haymarket Rail Station, which is on the main line train routes to and from London King’s Cross, Glasgow, and Inverness. The hotel is walking distance to Edinburgh Castle, Princes Street, Murrayfield Stadium, and Edinburgh International Conference Centre, while Edinburgh Zoo is a short drive away. Tune Hotel Haymarket takes pride in being a limited service hotel, because sometimes, all travelers really need from a hotel is a hot shower and a good night’s rest. That is why the hotel offers guestrooms at very affordable prices by getting rid of costly full-service extras that guests do not need and should not have to pay for.

New but not clean
Very good location. It is new, indeed. However, When I entered the room, the floor is dirty as its new and there was some rubbish near by the rubbish bin, not inside the rubbish bin. Some essential equipment was missing, such as wardrobe and kettle. Very poor experience!

Great location and very clean only reason I have put minimum value for money was due to high prices due to Tatoo and fringe being on excellent menu and breakfast at reasonable price defineatly would stay here again

Excellent accommodation
Cozy and comfortable room. Great location, only 1 min walking from Haymarket station. The room is clean and safety. The stuff are nice and helpful

Great value, simple, efficient
The rooms are small and the hotel generally lacks"extra" amenities...but if you're looking for a clean, efficient, affordable nights sleep in a great location - this is it. The wifi was fast, the water pressure was great. Staff was wonderfully helpful at check in and check out, and even though you're near a busy street the hotel is very quiet. Controlled access to elevators with your room keys. I would definitely stay again

Good for short trips/passing through
This is the second time I've stayed here. The hotel has small rooms that are suited for short trips to Edinburgh. It's in excellent position for transportation with the trams and Haymarket station being just across the road. If you're staying for a couple of days then it's a great choice, but if you're planning to be in Edinburgh for longer then I'd find a place with a larger room.

Opinion is pretty divided on this hotel, but I think it's pretty typical of all Tune hotels around the world. I'll list down some of the features of the hotel and you guys can decide for yourself. I have to say that many of these points are 'neutral', so it's really depends on the type of traveller you are. 1. Location - yes it's near the Haymarket station and very convenient for travelling by train. It doesn't take any effort to find at all, the hotel is literally across the street. A negative point though is that the hotel is a good 15-20 min walk from the main city attractions. Options for getting into the main tourist area are by tram, train or walking. The first two obviously cost $$ so if you're on a budget clearly this is not great, and walking is totally fine on a good weather day. It's quite a pleasant walk through the gardens but I would think it's a pain during winter months though. Brr! 2. Extras and room size - Yes, the room is small. But this is to be expected and the hotel doesn't hide this. It is a budget hotel after all. A little warning about the extras: you have to pay for every single thing, including towels, tv and wireless. Storing luggage while waiting for check in at 3pm will also set you back £2.50/bag (!!!) Point is, it's completely fine if you can live without these 'basics' - bring your own towel and use the WiFis in cafes. Personally though, I think the Tune Group may want to rethink its strategy on this. It works on the basis of pay for what you use similar to budget airlines, but flying short distance is completely different from staying in a place. Technically, not providing any of these basics makes Tune Hotels more like a hostel, but with even less facilities than a hostel and at a higher cost. This doesn't make this particular hotel a bad one though, but you just have to go in with your eyes open, although if you book through online sites the prices for these 'extras' are already included in the price so you won't notice it. Very nice hotel but small rooms
Very nice hotel but rooms are very small. Not sure how I'd manage more than a few nights with luggage and two people staying
