From hustling street to safe Red Planet room
Great WiFi, roomy shower, nice bed
Better than what I'd expect to find in the bustling, hustling streets of outer Makati (this is not in the fine streets of Makati, so beware). We were staying in Manila as a station for further travel to Palawan. Red Planet Makati has everything you need and provided a clean room, a nice bed and great WiFi, and I've got to mention the whole place looks mint considering the location. Guess it's the Red Planet standard. The only two things to put my finger on is their breakfast, which really doesn't live up to their indoor standard as it is situated in a strange looking and always dark-lit, shady sportsbar/diner (guess they tried to build a cool theme tourists would like but it ended up subpar) and the breakfast was disastrous. The air conditioner in the room made a lot of noise. Bring your ear plugs for okay sleep or expect a rather excellent sound of war. A roomy shower weighs up though. If a temporary stay in Manila is what you need, and you manage to find this place at a (very) nice, it's okay to stay here.

Good
clean staff
First, water supply got cut off on my very first day while on shower when i checked in and resume supply 1hour later. Overall its was ok but rooms were too small to move around and there is no phone in the room where you have to go to the lift lobby on the floor itself to communicate with the reception but its still ok with me and would not recommend to my friends.

You get what you pay for
Price. Availability. Shower
Booked short notice which was great, while others were booked out. Very basic, very tiny double room. Spacious bathroom. Great shower, water splashes everywhere, almost flooding the bathroom. Aircon was so nice it felt a truck is driving through your room. As I wanted to sleep, I had to switch it off. Glad the room had a ceiling fan. The Hotel as right in between the Red light district; Prostitutes in and outside of the hotel. If you don't mind any of my comlaints, this is a great place to stay.

One of the best budget hotels in Manila
I have stayed here many times and keep returning. From the moment of arrival, the man at the door is welcoming and friendly, the reception staff always pleasing, and the housekeeping staff always polite and friendly. Room is standard Red Planet/Tune. Basic but clean and well appointed. The cafe/restaurant here is the Insider Sportsbar, shows all the top English and European soccer games if that is your taste, and it is mine! Great location, near some good restaurants and bars. Close shopping centre. 7-11s, Family Marts everywhere! Don't use the cabs out the front!! Rip-offs. Walk down the end of the short street and hail one from the traffic. If you want fuss-free transfer to the airport go to the Europcar desk in the foyer, open about 9-5, and for 650 pesos you get a comfortable drive to the airport.
