Hotel is tired and could be rennovated

Overpriced and could use a good cleaning. Staff is average. Dining on patio is charming but lots of mosquitos. Inside dining room packed with tours so it's very loud and not conducive to a good dining experience. More like a 3.5 hotel,

Best hotel in Chau Doc but the rooms are not great

location, breakfast
This place has superb location and it has a boat service to Cambodia, which might be the draw for many guests here. The rooms are 2-3 star standard at best and are very old. There are lots of strange noises like electrical wiring buzzing at night which is disconcerting to say the least. The staff seemed quite attentive to foreign guests but was not so nice to us Vietnamese. I think only 1 or 2 of them actually smiled at me. Lots of time I was at the counter first but they would interrupt to service other foreigners. I got one of the most expensive room so I can't understand this discrimination. There's not much to do in Chau Doc so I most likely won't come back again. Even if I do, I'll definitely not stay here as it is terrible value for money. I paid well over 4.3 million VND and for that I could easily stay at 5-star resorts all over Vietnam. I don't usually make a lot of stupid mistakes but this was one of them.

Fantastic hotel

Pool, food, location
This is the best hotel in Chau Doc by a very long way. A little old, but beautifully decorated and appointed. The pool is sensational after a long drive from HCMC. Food and drink are of a very high standard. The staff are always lovely and helpful. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Chau Doc.

Value for money.

love the location , balcony see mekong river
We stayed here just for the one night as part of a tour and it was amazing, the staff were amazing, the rooms spacious and very comfortable, the food was amazing and the whole place was one that I would love to go back to one day, the staff had been told that I wasn't feeling the best and were so lovely wanting to help in any way. You felt like you had stepped back in time it was gracious and elegant.

Best location

Comfortable room, friendly staff and brilliant location for onward travel to Cambodia.
We had a short stay before leaving for Phnom Penh with Blue Cruisers. We were upgraded into a river view room - which was lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the best thing was that we left by boat next morning from the hotel's own pier! This meant we were able to enjoy breakfast before we left, and with the help of the hotel staff, our transfer to the boat was easy! Surely the only place to stay in Chau Doc.

luxury in the middle of nowhere

amazing river view, very comfortable, very good staff
at this historic luxury hotel you can follow the life on the river from your balcony. expensive but totally worth it, in a place where noone should think there was a luxury hotels. most of the other guests were on organized tours arriving in the afternoon and leaving the next morning. we dodged the crowd and had the hotel almost for ourselves. very friendly and professional staff, and all of them, from bellboy to manager, speaks at least some english. good restaurant with both vietnamese and french food. a hotel-experience you will remember.
