Holy Land
I spent five nights at the Victoria Hotel in East Jerusalem on a trip to the Holy Lands. The Hotel is in the Arab quarter and offers a basic but clean hotel. Breakfast is typical middle eastern food with some continental to get you going for the day. The hotel is a convenient 10 minute walk to the Old City and Damascus Gate. The is also a number of good Arabic restaurants in the area. The only negative was the cigarette smell that permuated through out the hotel and through the bathroom.

Close to the old city. Adequate for the price
Close to the old city.
Staff took awhile to warn up. But that would apply for most of Israelies we met. People driving taxis, buses and retail workers would have to be some of the grumpiest in the world.

Easy peasy
Location, location, location plus friendly, helpful staff. They put my rented car inside the compound overnight which was a big bonus. The breakfast waiter fussed over
9/10... It wasn't the Hilton nor did I want the Hilton. Staff and location was 10/10. I would stay again in a heartbeat. Thanks for fussing over me.

5-minutes walking to old city (king herod's gate)
close to the old city, staff very friendly, nice breakfast
Located in arab's district, people are friendly to tourists. It's very convenient to go into the old city by walking (about 5 minutes). Breakfast is good, and there is a very nice gentlement at the front desk who offer us many useful information.

Good for the money
Price; staff; location.
Our stay was good. It's a budget hotel that needs renovation. However, the friendly, helpful staff, and price made up for its lack of updated features. A relatively new air conditioner kept us cool (especially while sleeping) during extremely high temperatures. Wireless had limited reception in the room but was very good in the lobby. The breakfast buffet was basic but good, with mostly Middle Eastern fare. The connected restaurant is excellent for dinner, and reasonably priced. The location in East Jerusalem (Arab side) is great for easy access to the old city. The neighborhood isn't as nice as Jerusalem's west side, but you get what you pay for. We would go back again just because of the staff.

Good budget hotel near old city
Friendly staff, clean room, fast internet
Nice budget hotel located on a quiet backstreet 10 minutes walk from old city. Fast and friendly check in. Room was nice and clean. Beds were comfortable although a bit noisy, (also the door to bath room). Breakfast was fine. Will certainly recommend this hotel to my friends.

Very incomfortable place
WiFi, Friendly staff
If you are a woman travelling alone, you'd better not take it or you will feel incomfortable in the streets and walking back late at night. The bathroom was not really clean. The mastrass was certainly old and uncomfortable. Got no information about breakfast, you need to ask it all yourself. The staff is friendly though and some fruit and water wait for you in the room. Unique experience of hearing muslim prayers from your room.
