It's a great location IF you want to stay away fr.o.m. Downtown in district 1

We loved this hotel with the exception of the first couple days. Upon arrival our first night of vacation was greeted with loud construction at 3am in the morning just below our room. Our second day was spent catching up on our sleep. The next morning I requested a room change and was told they were fully booked and the construction was finished. As a paying customer I expected some kind of compensation for a sleepless night and half day wasted the next day as we caught up with our sleep. However, I was told by the staff that the manager offered nothing. Now, I don't blame the staff because they were very helpful during our whole stay. But I think management could have handled the situation better. The last thing a disgruntled customer wants to hear is "sorry, we can't do anything". The manager should have offered a personal apology, free drink at the bar, or something. It just started our trip on a sour note and made my relationship with the staff feel a bit awkward at first. I despise people who behave like "ugly Americans" demeaning local peoples. Fortunately, our stay just got better day by day along with smiles from the staff. On our last day they even provided us with free airport transportation. I will definitely come back to this hotel, but one suggestion to the management is to deal with dissatisfied customers in a better way. Other than the day 1 incident, your hotel provided 5 star service and accommodation.

I stay here regularly. It is a good no frills basic hotel. Clean and comfortable if you like hard beds. If you are looking for an American style hammock soft bed, go somewhere else. Staff are not gushing and professionally pleasant, but they are efficient, kind and friendly. Westerners should not expect the, American "have a great day", or "how was your day" culture in Asia. Their's is a respectful and genuine culture, sometimes mistaken as unfriendly. There is an enormous amount of pool activity at the hotel, and some people may be bothered by the noise from children and adults alike splashing around the place. Thankfully it all finishes before 10pm. Try to get a room that does not face into the internal courtyard, because that is where all the noise comes from. Otherwise, its a great hotel.
