Great staff but grim accommodation.
I booked this hotel blind based on peoples opinion on sites like this and Tripadvisor. When I arrived tired from a hard days traveling, I was welcomed and made to feel at home by the excellent staff, however, when I saw the room, my heart sank. It was in poor decorative order, there was no furniture other than the beds and a broken bedside table, the bathroom stank and the window, which was very difficult to open and close, looked out onto a void filled with air conditioning plant and something that was constantly dripping water. Rather than stay one night there, I paid a one night penalty to cancel and found another hotel.

More of a guesthouse than a hotel
The location was great and the staff helpful but on the downside the bed was harder than a coffin nail. There was nothing unpleasant about the place, however for the same money I feel you could likely do better.

Good location
Noisy. One staff member very rude and knocked on door telling me I was overstaying check out time ie 1100- even though they had sign up in room saying 12pm. Not very nice. Sheets dirty. Noisy construction close by.

Friendly staff, good area, not amazed by rooms but
Relaxed atmosphere, OKish internet. Good location, lots of restaurants nearby. Night market is one minute walk. Rooms are ok but not amazing, definitely not comparable to Thailand in value, beds were rock hard. We were given a nice big room the first night and then asked to move into a tiny little room the next night with no real explanation. Expect food to be a little expensive, tuk tuks are pricey too, not much to do. Breakfast included toast, fried eggs, fried rice, pancakes, watermelons and bananas, buffet style. If you are coming for a thai visa, you're much better off staying at the lao golden and then you can walk up to the consulate, however there's not much to do there.

Friendly Service and Great Location
Location, good service and great courtyard
The hotel are better than what I have expected. Superb location inside the city center; restaurants, drinking places, tour offices, massage centers and the night market are near. The hotel staff are great, especially Sam and Rhonard; both of them are great people, they will make sure the guests to have a great time staying here and do their best to provide assistance to you. We went to north in sleeper bus and we left our heavy bags with them, and check-in back to this hotel after that. They allowed us to use the shared bathroom for shower before we proceed to bus station for the sleeper bus, and when we were back to Vientiane, reached their hotel in early morning, they invited us to eat the prepared breakfast as well, which we rejected - it was too nice of them. Overall, we had a wonderful time staying in this hotel, and I recommend it to those who understands and accept budget hotel and it's standard.
