Not impressive

Quiet location, breakfast
5.7
The rooms I and my friends had, had no usable windows. Wifi was very poor, you get around 1 Mbit/s. This is probably true about most hotels in Vientiane, mobile data access is also appallingly slow. All hinges squeak, oil would do wonders. The few available ashtrays outside were emptied, but never cleaned. The alley leading in to the hotel was rutted and dusty. The beds were much too hard for us.

My stay was disappointed. Shower pressure was poor. When shower the shower area was flooded. Location wise is not good and difficult to get a tuk tuk.

Well think about it once more.

The breakfast was good and their service though it was a few flies.

It was .... rather shocking. I didn't know a budget room has separate bathroom. The door was see-through and the room has awful locking system. Compare to my Vang Vieng room, it felt like quite expensive. But their service was very good:)

Very disappointed

The garden, the appearance of the house and the baguette at breakfast.

I was booked to stay for 2 night but left after the first. There was no hot water, the wall s were paper thin and there were mice or some such animal scurrying around in the ceiling for most of the night. I hardly slept. Bar the bed and small bedside cabinet, there was no furniture in the room at all.

Old villa homestay

courtyard; quiet; friendly and helpful staff
7.7
This is an old villa that needs some repair work to maintain the rustic charm. For the price I paid, it was OK but not great. The room was clean. The bathroom was a little challenging due to low water pressure for the toilet and slow waste water drainage from the shower stall. Water does splash everywhere. The toilet facility is only partially partitioned from the sleeping area. Some people (even young children) peeked over the walls to see who was in the toilet. Hot breakfast was OK with a menu of option. The hotel staff was very sweet and helpful, trying to make the guests' stay as comfortable as possible.

Peaceful, relaxing, and secluded stay

Exterior courtyard/garden; friendly and helpful staff; peace and quiet

Despite being in the city center, this place is quiet, hidden away in a small alley on the periphery. It is also near the airport as well but you don't hear the noise. The courtyard/garden is very relaxing to sit in with lush green plants, trees, and flowers. At night many geckos come to visit. Mosquitoes also love visiting the rooms here, too. The rooms are basically clean. Air circulation could be problematic despite having an air conditioner without a fan to help with air circulation. The bathroom is a like a half-height stall, not fully extending to the ceiling. The bathroom can be challenging at times when there is low water pressure and clogged drains. It has the typical all-in-one toilet, shower, and sink design, where water can spray all over the place. Hot breakfast options has a menu choice of either Western (toast/baguette, eggs, ham, sausage (which I say is half a hot dog wiener) or Eastern food (rice porridge or stir-fried noodles).

Acceptable acoommodations two stars

Helpful staff, great coffee

Very short stay, arrived late evening. Staff very kind and helpful, spotty English. This is an older hotel maintained in acceptable condition but has not been upgraded. Has its own sort of old world charm, very comfortable bed.
