A great place to stay and enjoy
Great location, wonderful staff and a beautiful villa. Only negative was the mattress which was hard as a rock.

Wonderful place in danger
wonderful place, good location very close to the beach. Nice swimming pool very operational villa BUT : no more maintenance (no air cond in stretching room), jakusi out of order, no electricl power during full day... Staff kind but very few can speak English Nno way to have more than 2 lemon juce at 1pm (no more lemon !!!!) I am afraid this place will become worst and worst. Please wake up

good and bad
Great location and quite a nice villa. Dirty villa pool, but great hotel pool, broken things in villa and poor english from staff. Also had a key issue that took a LONG time to sort out and next door villa with kids very noisy.

Could be superb - but isn't
This is a hard review to write. I enjoyed my stay immensely, but there were a host of niggling issues that just took the shine off the experience - and most of those were, fundamentally, management failings. The design and layout of the accommodation is superb. The original architect and designer did an excellent job. Unfortunately, there has been a lack of ongoing maintenance of the accommodation. It still works, it's still fun and fabulous, but everywhere you turn there are cracks and things that either don't work or work below par. The place also needs a good clean - e.g. dirty marks on the walls and external upholstery. Mind you, it's Bali so you kind of expect that. The staff were very friendly and always tried their best to help. The "towel origami" by the turn down crew was just amazing. The reception staff were great at helping with arranging things. Most staff were new to the hotel and were just learning the routines. Spoken English was below par for Bali, which meant that I was never sure if they actually understood what I wanted. However, they were always keen to get feedback. The food was very patchy. In-villa dining throughout the day was available. The biggest problem with every in-villa meal was that it was cold by the time it reached the villa. There was also a restaurant - nicely set up but unused. Don't go for breakfast included. There are a large number of cafes and restaurants close by that can do a much better job. For the same reason, room service should be a choice of last resort. The biggest dining disappointment for us was a candlelight dinner by the main pool. It was set up beautifully with candles along the side of the pool and a floating heart candle in the pool. Table for two, all on our own. We had one waitress allocated to look after us, both for drinks and for food. By her own admission, it was her first time waiting at table (resulting in one or two service gaffs - but nothing major). The first thre

Inconvenient
Great location, staff had limited understanding of English. There was no cot available when I requested one at time of booking. 2 separate keys to enter your villa & you needed your swipe key on you at all times in your villa; as both bedrooms had separate doors, when you closed the door you were locked out & there was no way to prevent this from happening.

Noisy OK villa
Can hear all the road traffic and staff talking and messing around. Their English was not very good at all. Breakfast was mediocre. Bed was very hard. Rooms were very clean, as was the outside areas. Don't like outside showers as it was raining a fair bit of the time we were there. Overall it was an OK accommodation.

Great service and good location
The service at Mahapala was excellent. We enjoyed the warm hospitality shown from all the staff. They even matched the towels to our zodiac signs. The housekeeping staff also displayed their origami skills when they folded our towels according to our chinese horoscope. It was more than a pleasant stay and we look forward to staying there in the future.

Disappointed
We were utterly disappointed when we found out that there wasn't an in-house spa, when the website said there was.
