This lovely property is one of the higher rated establishments in all of greater Cape Town for many reasons. Perhaps it is the lush six acres of carefully maintained parkland, the two indoor swimming pools, the nearby Cavendish shopping district, the full-service luxury spa, or the world-class dining that takes place every night in one of the three restaurants. There are many reasons to list, these are just a few and combined with the level of service and overall tranquility of the area it is easy to understand why this is a top choice for Cape Town.

Prime location old hotel beautifully appointed.

Reception & porters efficient, warm & welcoming. High standard furnishings & fittings.
Housekeeping left much to be desired in our room and the dining room. Left these comments and others on a review the hotel requested but have not had feedback yet, perhaps a bit too soon as we only checked out 3 days ago.

A great stay for overseas and local visitors!

Comfort and service
Spacious and cozy room, large comfortable well appointed bed, with roomy bathroom, all very clean throughout. Lovely garden to sit and relax making for peaceful surroundings. The history of the hotel is interesting and well presented. Breakfast was varied and sumptuous. However it is the staff who make this hotel. All attentive, knowledgeable, humorous and happy. It's infectious! You leave having really enjoyed yourself.

Professional and courteous

The welcoming staff, the breathtaking grounds, the beauty
The hotel staff were courteous. They answered questions knowlegeably and with a smile. Though the hotel was busy, the staff always took time to greet me and never rushed me. Check in was quick, the room was clean and well stocked, and my stay was magical. The view was magnificient and the services incredible. Breakfast offered a full variety of foods. The dinning room was beautiful, and the staff made me feel like the most important person in the world. I used the swimming pool and the spa. Though the gym was used by many guests, I was alone in the pool. Due to the high level of stress in my job, I am booked for a weekly massage in Canada thus I accessed the spa for a massage. What a lovely experience! The cost was the same as the hour massage in Ottawa, Canada, but the service was not comparable. How wonderful!

Quiet area, beautiful hotel, wonderful service

The hotel offered a wide range of services
Hotel staff were knowlegeable, courteous, professional and helpful. The breakfast was complete and sufficient for a man. The gym was clean and had all the equipment I required. The hotel room was clean, had a safe for my valuables, an ironing board for my clothes, and room service. The mall was only a few blocks away. the doorman was courteous, and was quick to figure out my routine.

Our Favourite Place

Close to shopping centres and other amenities. Lots of things to do at the hotel. Rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. Staff are excellent and attentive
My wife and I always go here when we need a little r and r. We were fortunate enough to be able to take our kids with this time. The facilities at the hotel are great, the staff are amazing and the place is just very well run and extremely kid friendly. the food is to die for, including the breakfast buffet. The tasting menu at Myoga is our favourite thing to do when we are in Cape Town

Hotel with an Interesting Past

what i found interesting are the tales and vignettes of south africa's past that they give out at turn down. they are interesting read before bed time. i also love the old pictures of life in south africa. a stroll in the garden after a fill in the restaurant is also a bonus. the staff also went out of their way to accommodate our requests.
