Almost perfect

Great Price Good Space Glorious Privacy
On the way to the resort, I was worried. The price and the ratings just didn't match up and that sounded too good to be true. As soon as we hit Samui it was apparent, 300baht for a 3km. ride to the resort (if I had called a cab from the resort it would have been 400baht, I called and asked on the way). Got to the resort, raining and the lights were out. Not the resorts fault, just something that happens occasionally on the island when it rains. The reception knew immediately who we were (kudos to the receptionist), gave us a complimentary drink and cool towel before taking us to our room. Turned a few corners and WAM! our room. The receptionist gave us a tour and oh my was it spacious. Living room, Bed room, Bath room (Huge!) and even the closet was it's own room! Told the receptionist how I felt about the bungalow and she replied "This is our smallest room" with a giggle. A bit after the receptionist left the rain drizzled down and the lights came on. Me and my beloved went for dinner then the pool (after a minimum 30 minutes of digestion of course) and it was nostalgic. The pool was wonderfully lit and after all the rain, the stars filled the sky (like I said, nostalgic). This magical moment was not interrupted by and guest or staff, this is where the privacy kicks in. Viva vacation isn't over packed and over staffed. It's a mom and pop kind of business that is missing in a lot of tourist destination. Most places are franchises that pack their resort with tours and guest, so much so that you just want to pack up as soon as you arrive. Or, on the opposite spectrum, are places that have low prices and even less value. Sure, the lights went out and the food wasn't michelin quality and sure, they charged me 300 baht for a 3km. ride to the docks (on the way back). But those precious moments of romance and privacy out shine the rest. Nostalgic, much like the stars after the rain.

Relaxing Anniversary Get-Away

Quiet, Relaxing, Peaceful
We had an awesome stay at Viva! The location is remote and the beach is lovely. The staff raked the beach every morning to keep it free from debris and that is just one example of their attention to detail. The breakfast had many choices and everything that we tried was very good. My wife and I live in Thailand ad have vacationed in many different cities and the service at Viva was well above average. The one downside was that there were not many local restaurants close by and when we travel we like to eat some meals a little Thai places (it tastes authentic and helps the budget!) But overall a very relaxing vacation for our 5 year anniversary.

West coast relaxation

Location, pool, room
Lovely. Quiet and tranquil, amongst plans and fruit plantations. Unlike the noisy and over-exposed east coast, this was a peaceful getaway but with proximity to the piers and town.

Awesome place, feel like home!Must visit place!

private beach, home-feel villa, everything in the resort
At first ,I thought it was just a normal poor small house when I arrived.. I change my mind after the welcome drink that made by a special leaves that can change the color from green to purple ,it was amazing yet tasty! After that I was guided by the staff to my villa, people here are friendly and helpful! It is a beautiful garden with nice decoration for the path to my villa.Once I've reached my villa,I have the feeling feel like home, something called my own! There's great view, green garden in front my house,a bench outside, and I started entered my house,it's very spacious house, for me,I'm solo travel, and I love my villa! The bedroom is with nice deco ,and connecting to a huge bathroom! It's really big, have a bathtub, independent toilet and independent shower room inside, yet still very spacious with big mirror..It may good and romantic for couple :) after that ,open the door out,it's a changing room . The resort is so sweet, they have a nice bamboo bag with spare towel provided for those who plan to go swimming or beach use!I did bring the beach bag out at evening, sitting at the swing / bench ..enjoy the nice landscape, wave, and great sunset that I've in Koh Samui! The price is very reasonable, and you will enjoy a 5 star resort! I love everything in the resort! Highly recommend!

Four days stop in Viva Vacation

Very nice, clean and quiet resort
We were on short stop in Viva Vacation Resort. It is very nice small resort for people, which do not find night live. Staff is very friendly, bungalows are after reconstruction. Pool is nice, long and deep (max 190cm). Sea is very shallow, 150m from beach is depth ~1m. Internet is not so fast, but running well. Generally - connectivity of Koh Samui to EU is not good.
