Great escape from the crazyness of tourism

quietness, beautiful nature, no tourism
We loved our stay at the WaterJade Resort and would go back there any time.

Peaceful yes... but a bit 'rustic'

Surrouding, the lac, very nice, very calm and natural.
Being on a lac... of course there are mosquitoes. No big deal, but better to be prepared. You do need a car, or at least a motorcycle. The resort is far from any place, which is also why it is so calm and quiet. We rented a car at Phuket airport, so no problem. Within 20-40 km around the resort, there are so many places to go, beaches, waterfall, restaurants etc... The shower is outside, only 'cold' water, but that's fine as cold is not very cold here anyway, and who needs hot water in these climates? Breakfast is basic. We did not dine there, went around to many sea-food restaurants (mainly in Thai Mueang).

Nice place, good surroundings.

Great lake, rooms nice and clean, good fun.
Had a great stay here. The kayaks are free to use on the lake and a lot of fun. Rooms are nice inside.

Pleasantly surprised

food, staff and location
This place is a bit out of the way, the beach nearby was literally abandoned except for some monks (they have a buddhist temple at the seaside which was worth a look)but if you go a bit further up, then the beach is yours, try skinny dipping (at ur own risk lol). the restaurant within the accommodation was excellent. It was a bit sad that it was quiet at the hotel. We and another couple were the only ones staying there. I think it deserves some attention..Its not like your typical phuket hotel, but thats the charm of it. Oh yea the villa we stayed in was just lovely..yes villa n we paid abt $60. LOL

Appalling condition

There is nothing to recommend this hotel
We actually pulled up outside this hotel and my wife took one look at it and said that she was not prepared to stay there. It looked dreary and depressing and in need of some considerable renovation.

quiet location with warm service from staff

quiet place, nice service, nice surroundings
The room was nice designed but not clean enough to meet regular standard. The garden and pond in the hotel was beautiful and we can do kayaking for free. The staff was very nice. We checked out very late and had nothing to eat. The staff tried to get some instant noodle and let us borrow kitchen tools. Overall, I feel comfortable to stay in this hotel.

True nature hotel - lots of insects and wildlife!

Super sweet staff, large rooms, quiet location
Waterjade was both good and bad. I loved the staff, very warm and friendly and the rooms are large and clean. Be warned though, this hotel is literally in the middle of nowhere. You must have a vehicle and be willing to drive everywhere. The beach is about a 10 min drive on motorbike. The deluxe rooms have hot water only in the bathtubs and the shower is outside and only has cold water. There are bugs and insect everywhere, but this cannot be helped as you are in the woods. In my room, I had 2 inch long beetles, huge spiders, hornets and one morning woke up to at least 300 dead flying bugs carpeting my bathroom floor and counters. If you are not scared by big insects then you will love waterjade. if you are, then I would suggest staying somewhere else.

Quiet Nature Hotel

Lovely Staff, Big comfortable rooms, quiet location
I stayed here because there were not many options in the area. Waterjade is quiet, relaxing and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and made me feel very at home. This is not an ideal location if you want to be close to anything, it is very isolated and you need transportation. They do have motorbikes for rent at 400 baht a day. There are no stores around - which made it kind of lovely because it is so peaceful - although a bit scary at night because you are in the middle of no where. Lots of bugs - be prepared - it's like luxury camping

Pleasant stay, friendly staff

The dam, kayaks for the dam, restaurant
At first glance the resort did not look like much, the gardens were quite dry and not the most attractive. I stayed for two days because I had a wedding to attend near by, luckily I had a bicycle for transport because the resort is quite far away from everything. The nearest town is 10km away and a taxi costs 400baht one way. A suggestion is to hire a scooter, thats what some of my friends did.
