In the small county village of Portmarnock, the White Sands Hotel enjoys a salubrious setting by the beach with quaint white cottages and the Irish Sea as neighbors. The property's romantic location makes it a popular spot for weddings and intimate getaways, although it's just as suitable for tourists looking for a base outside Dublin's center. The charming Malahide Village is a leisurely 15-minute walk away along the sea wall, where guests will find restaurants, shops, and the 12th century Malahide Castle. Closer to home, guests can make use of the hotel's Tamango nightclub or while away an afternoon watching kite fliers on the beach.

A nice stopover before the morning ferry

Location, beach, location
We chose this hotel to end our week long tour of Ireland as we didn't want to stay in the city as parking can be costly and inconvenient with a car. No problem here the car park is quite big and free. It was easy to find the hotel and the beach is closely for an evening stroll.

A good alternative

The hotel has a great location on the sea front and a nice bar
The hotel was quiet, clean and well located in Portmarnock. It is a good alternative to the much smarter Portmarnock Hotel just down the road. A pleasant bar to pass time in after getting back from golf

Great stay

staff, food, room
Had a great stop over at this hotel. Staff were very pleasant at reception and bar/food areas. Rooms were spacious and comfortable.A lovely location with sea views and excellent walks in a highly residential location. Above all 'Service with a smile!'

Value for money

Location, price, cleanliness
We stayed for one night and had a brilliant time. There was a great atmosphere in the bar, the staff very friendly, the room (although a bit old) was very clean and had a sea view. Will definitely stay again.

As expected

The view, the accomodation in general, the people
We would always come back in Dublin. Portmarnock is a lovely village as Ireland is a lovely country. We just wanted a place to rest after a long walk in Dublin. And the hotel was nice as were the people that made our accommodation a memorable one. The buses come every 30 min but it cost us 3.3 p.p. each trip. We would have preferred to stay in the center but then how could we have seen such a view?!
