2 Star Service at 5 Star Prices
Appearance...
Pretty poor. The staff do not understand basic hotel English, such as the difference between a double and a twin. The hot water did not work, which is completely unacceptable for a so-called 5 star hotel. The refrigerator also did not work and the mini-bar was not stocked. Finally, they are understaffed so check-in and check-out take too long for a chain that prides themselves on service.

bad location, 1* breakfast, and misdirection...
rooms ok
the location is bad for Shanghai. the breakfast is simply no better than a 1* or 2* hotel, certainly not a 5*, even for China. upon checking out, I asked for a cab. they took 25 minutes to find one, letting some go, without telling me why, simply "not this one", while I waited in the cold and became late for an important meeting. Once they got me a taxi, the bellboy gave the taxi driver the wrong address and I ended up on the other side of town and extremely late. self proclaiming you're running a 5* hotel does not suffice to actually have a 5* hotel. the service must follow, and it simply does not in this 3* at best hotel. there are much better options in Shanghai.

Good facilities but very little service
Room size, quietness, nice pool
Room is very huge and well furnished - it's definitely a value-for-money choice. It's a bit far away from Lujiazui and there's nothing much around, but it's enough for business travellers. The hotel is a bit under staffed so it feels like the service standard is not really 5-star. I spent 10 minutes looking for staff at the fitness centre. I really enjoyed having such a spacious room paying this price but the service could be improved much more!

My fifth stay at this hotel
street food ,spacious room,
This was my fifth stay at this hotel, it has become my second home in Shanghai. It's not great, but at this price there wasn't many choices. i am overall happy with this hotel, not amazing, but it is good value.
