Not so nice

flowers, garden, yoga
The place was hard to find, the rooms were very old, the bed was uncomfortable, and the atmosphere was dark and depressing. It was not at all like the pictures showed. Not a good place for spending a vacation. I was disappointed.

old colonial style house

nice location, right across from Zhongshan park
Bring mosquito repellant because the window & door has small gaps where they can fly in. No TV but close to Zhongshan road shopping district & right across the street from Zhongshan park. Has a nice B&B feel to the place. People can practise yoga here. Wifi was pretty slow.

Quaint hotel with amazingly friendly stagg

The staff were incredibly forthcoming, helpful and friendly. The hotel was close to all major attractions. There were comfy chairs scattered across the porch and gardens.

Convenient location and relax environment

Rooms are big and spacious
Location is convenient, it is opposite to Chung San garden (south door) - 10 mins walk to BTS and bus stop just outside the hotel (on main room), Rooms are spacious and typical xiamen style, not so happy with the tv remote, not working properly. Quite noisy if someone walking upstairs or noise from above rooms. In general everything is good.

An odd little hotel

relatively inexpensive, has yoga and martial arts classes for free
The photos greatly exaggerate the hotel. It's not all that nice and not very professionally run. It was clean and relatively inexpensive, but I doubt if I would stay there again. And it is very hard to find. Nobody knew where it was. It's tucked away at the dead-end of an alley-off-of-an-alley. I found it by pure accident. They really need to put up a sign and/or provide customers with an accurate map.
Nightlife Tip: Go all the way down to the waterfront, near the ferry terminal, then head north a few blocks. There's an alley headed back to the east that is full of food vendors. The food is outrageously good.

Nice Quaint Hotel

Quiet, Simple, Good Location
Our stay in this hotel was very satisfying. The staff were courteous and willing to help in whatever way possible. One of the yoga students was an American named Geoff who knew how to speak and write chinese and was very helpful in translating and writing down Chinese addresses for us to show to taxi drivers to let them know where to bring us. They also offered yoga lessons, free laundry service, free LAN and wifi. They have a mini kitchenette that serves vegetarian dishes. The beds are kinda hard which is I think standard in most hotels in China, except for the 5 star hotels. There is also no TV so we just watched movies that I downloaded on my laptop whenever we go home to the hotel to sleep. The location of the hotel is very accessible. There are 2 near bus stops that basically can bring you to wherever place in Xiamen you want to go for only 1 yuan.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: In getting around in Xiamen, the bus is a very efficient way of getting around the city. You just need to know (in Chinese characters) where you want to goand compare the characters with the ones in the board of the destinations of each bus, then you also need a gps so you'll know when to get off the bus.
