Extremely Disappointed

Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Extremely disappointed with the room I stayed with my teenage daughter. The room was very small. The window could not be closed and it was very dusty, dirty and full of cobwebs. The bathroom door was a makeshift bifold wooden louver that has no door knob. The sliding glass shower door was very difficult to slide and dangerous as it could break anytime. The room is not fit and safe to use by Australian standard and should have been renovated. Room should not be offered to another guest without being renovated. I am not happy and personally felt being ripped off. I would like my money back if not all. Y Hotel City South is not a hotel. It is not even a backpacker. I expect a decent clean and safe room. Room is way far from it. Will never go near Y Hotel City South ever again. I felt insulted by the hotel management to offer such a room for that hefty price!!!

Smelly, disgusting, backpackers hotel

comfortable bed
This hotel should not even be rated as a 3-star hotel, and it should rather be more of an upgrade to a backpacker's lodge. Toilet was smelly, carpets stunk as wet socks, and shower head was wrapped with filth. Service was poor as the staff was ignorant to my complaints, and could not do anything about it. Location was bad as it is beside a railway junction. Expect railway noise throughout the night.

For the price it was greatly overated and tired!!!

Location was the only thing.
Rooms are small, old and tired. The balcony outside our window was filthy and littered with cigarette butts. Advertised as breakfast included but that only consisted of toast or cereal. For the price of $289 per night, very overrated.

Great location and convenient to commute.

Fine. Happy with location. Room is extremely small but you get what you have paid. From my point of view $140 for each night stay is not that cheap. All hotels in Sydney are pricey, so, can't complain much. Next time, will consider to spend more and enjoy the spacious room.
