Traditional and comfy
1) host was very friendly and helpful 2) very traditional style accommodation, able to experience the Korean Culture
My hardbound and I had a great time at the Yoo's Family Guess House . The host was very helpful. Allowed us to do our laundry and offered to hang our laundry for us as we planned to go out. My Husband wasn't feeling well and the host sliced some oranges for him and constantly asking if he feels better. It is definitely a place i would recommend to my family and friends. Location is a bit far from subway . But we didn't mind walking. It situated within Insadong / Bunchok Hanok Village and the different palaces. Very convenient if your are taking the airport bus to and from the airport. Buses comes every 30 minutes.

The owner; Deborah is very nice :)
Unique experience, helpful owner, near palace
You can experience Korean traditional stay here, sleep with ondol, wearing hanbok and sitting on the floor dining :) The best part is Deborah! She very friendly, can speak very fluent english, only 1 block walk to the Palace. But quite far from Insadong center. However, not recommended for winter because the bathroom is outside of our room :( Overall we are satisfied staying here. PS: Deborah also gave us free room upgrade during our stay!

Our stay in Yoo's Family Guesthouse
1) It's well kept and clean 2) It's cosy 3) It gives us the first hand experience of the Korean traditional culture
Overall, it was pleasant and comfortable stay. The room was spacious and clean. The location is good as it is a walking distance to Inguk station and very near to the eateries/shops eg Insadong area as well as bus stop where the airport bus limousines pick up its passengers. The guesthouse really gave us the feel of being in the Korean culture. The innkeeper is very friendly and hospitable. The only set back is the walls between the rooms are thin and therefore, we literally had to whisper amongst ourselves especially after 9 pm as we may disturbed those in the other rooms.

A small guesthouse with warm welcome
Heater, nearby main road and clean
I stayed there for 2 nights, and we were altogether 9 people occupying 2 rooms of the guesthouse. Breakfast was slightly disappointed but overall it was a pleasant stay.

I won't recommend this place.

I felt pretty lousy that I booked this place to stay. Its a nice experience to live in those traditional korean house instead of hotel. But the person is really rude. I was travelling in Taiwan before I went to Korea, so I had some clothes unwashed. One of the reasons that I booked this place is because it is written there is laundry services. So I went and ask if I could wash my clothes in the washing machine. The moment she heard my request she just throw me a black face. Seriously, I'm not asking her to wash for me. If she think I am using her water she can charge me for it, I don't mind. That attitude is really awful. I can swallow it down if its just towards me. But she gave my mother that attitude too. This whole place is just ridiculous ,I won't step a foot in there again

Fabulous owner
Nice owner, friendly owner can speak good English
The experience was bad at the first place, as it was raining and we couldn't find the hanok, however, owner was very helpful and speak very good English, we chat on the phone and also help us to book flight to jeju island which was our next trip. Highly recommended to the one who'd like to try hanok. They provide traditional hambok, hope I spell it right, and only charged for 15,000won, if not mistaken.. Enjoy the trip guys ::)

Live like a Korean
Location to Historic Sites
The owner was helpful, but the hotel is a modern recreation of an old hanok house and they lived very basically in the old days with communal toilet/shower i.e. go outside to another room, and mattress on the floor. It was ok with aircon in summer but would be rough to nip outside to the toilet in winter. Breakfast was adequate but basic. The owner runs kimchee cooking classes which might be fun.

Memorable stay
Clean rooms, nice staff and outdoor garden
it was a pretty expensive stay. The guest house is located pretty far from the subway, about 15 minutes walk. The owners were friendly and we booked the family room, which is inclusive of a toilet. If you are planning to stay in for one day, i would suggest staying in a hanok. If you will be out the whole day, it is better to stay in a hotel or guesthouse as you will not be able to soak in the hanok experience.
