Little peace of Heaven in Phnom Penh

The friendliness of the staff, the quietness of the place, the projects developed by the owner of the guesthouse
It's by far the best place we stayed at during our trip in Cambodia. Everybody is so nice there, smily, always helping. I hope that if you go you'll have the chance to meet Muoy, who has incredible projects for running and building a school for underprivileged children. The place is really quiet, the house is full of books, paintings, musical instruments. Sitting outside next to the swimming pool surrounded by tree is very enjoyable. It's located in a peaceful neighbourhood, at a walking distance from the busy and lively streets where many restaurants and tourists place are.

Fantastic stay...highly recommend

The room was cozy, a great retreat with a pool. Staff lovely.
Fantastic stay. Highly recommend it. A great retreat in the city. The school next door is connected to the guesthouse - you can speak to the headteacher - and get involved if you wish. Part of your payment goes to the school. Staff are lovely, you feel extremely well looked after. Great value for money.

Memorable & meaningful experience

Supports social cause ~ Yummy home-cooked food ~ Attentive and friendly staff
We had an enjoyable and memorable stay at You Khin House. We heard about it through agoda ; and decided to book 2 nights. What drew us to it is the social cause - all proceeds go towards supporting Seametrey Children’s Village (nursery/day care and primary school next door). We were blessed to have met the owner, who took time to show us around the school. We even got the chance to chat and interact with teachers, volunteers and children! The staff and volunteers are doing such an amazing job; indeed a note-worthy cause to support - you'll know it when you meet them! Don't forget to savour yummy home-cooked traditional khmer and international food at the restaurant in You Khin House. Superb food and service! We were very lucky to have stayed on Friday, cause the (older) school children prepared delicious pancakes with various fillings for us. Yeah! What’s also really interesting is the art gallery in this guest house, which not only spans in the living area (level 1) but also at the stairways, guest rooms and bathrooms too! And for rainy days (esp during monsoon period), one can pass time by having a game or two at the pool table or grab a book at level 3. In fact, we had such a pleasant stay that we extended one more night here! Thanks to staff, volunteers and children who made all this possible.

Great cause. Value for money bellow expectation

Staff, staff, staff
Staff are very heartful and the cause is fair. But the room was honestly bellow what you expect. Management should renew the room style and decoration to make it a bit more cosy, upgrade the breakfast option and add some kind of charm around the pool area.

interesting artwork, supporting a school, rooms were good
I was disappointed with this hotel. I had booked it knowing it was out of the way but i thought that as it supported a school and the kids came through to swim and sing and serve crepes i would love to support it.I am not sure if the lady who normally is involved with that was away, but it was different to what we expected. After checking in every time you go in or out you hang the key in the kitchen, i wasnt really sure who worked at reception. We asked about the crepes but every time they were not available,The kids never sang though they did come and swam pretty much unsupervized having a ball doing cannon balls etc.The ladyies in the kitchen were lovely, we ate there a few times and we were happy with the food and service from them

Wonderful atmosphere - friendly, family feel

Great pool, tasty food
We were welcomed as old friends and would recommend You Khin House to other travellers who want home stay rather than impersonal service.

Wonderful experience

Service, staff, school next door, other travelers
this hotel, and the proprietress, muoy you, was a highlight of my trip. not only was the hotel wonderful, but what muoy you is doing is amazing. she runs a montessori school for children from all walks of life where students learn several languages, respect for others, and experience total acceptance. the food there was excellent, but the real treat was seeing the children enjoying learning and caring for others. you will not be disappointed in this hotel.

Off the beaten path, service could improve

Quiet neighborhood, pool area is very nice
There is a card in each room titled "Please Read!" that explains that You Khin House is a school, first, and a hotel second. It shows, as there was really no clear contact person for hotel-related matters. Often, I'd have to ask volunteers who were there working for the school for assistance, which created rather awkward situations as that's not really their role.

Cozy hotel, great staff, good cause

Cozy guesthouse with great staff who always has a smile when they see you. Good central location, close to everything, all the tourist spots are 5 to 10 min Tuktuk rides away. They always have Tuktuk drivers waiting outside the hotel so no worries about having to find one. We neve tried their lunch or dinner but breakfast was a really simple affair with toast, juice and fruits. If you need something heartier walk outside a bit and there are plenty of restaurants close by.
