Close to subway station, clean room.
This hotel is close to a subway station. We had to go to their office to check in then walk another 15 mins to the hotel. Our room is on the 4th floor but there is no lift. Its more like a hostel rather than a 3 star hotel. Everything is self service.

My stay at One Third Residence Yashiki Akihabara went very well. I found it hard to locate at first(due to me taking a wrong turn), but once I found it everything fell into place. Checkin took no time at all and I was shown were things were, after that everything was self explanitery. I Would certainly consider going back.

Location - Good English - Ryogan
Our stay is good, but the room quite small and the bathroom also shared. The location is good just 2 minutes walk to Tokyo Metro Ginza Line which can take you to many landmarks and main station of Tokyo. with 10 minutes walk will take you to Akihabara - the Electric town and 15 minutes walk will take you to Ueno Park. This guesthouse is good for group and couple with the acceptance of noises in the middle of the night-they use paper to divide the room.

It is very accessible to public transport and main attractions in ueno
It was superb. My only concern is the time I went home late, the main door is unlocked. It may be an issue of safety since there's no 24 hour receptionist.

Comfort, convenient but don't expect service”
Near Metro station, tidy, experience Jap style
First it's a fine Japanese style guesthouse. The place you staying is actually apart from office. After register they have map instruction guide you to the place 3 or 4 corners away. Through a digital lock door you can access the house and you will be staying in one of the assigned room. For Tokyo it's quite a big tatami room, as the toilet and bathroom (separated) are shared. The house was extremely silent but as it's wooden you can hear every step on stairs of the other guest. You have to make up your own bed as it's Japanese style, they will leave enough sheets to you. Bathroom is for shower and you have to dry it after use. Standard TOTO toilet. The air-conditioned room is simple, no TV, no fridge, no boiler. A drawer cupboard (no cup), 3 hangers, an oriental table have a padlock for lock your paper door while you go out. There're a public area for Internet and lockers, which you can leave your luggage after checkout. I have the following recommendations. 1. Change the inside lock to a door lock so we can reuse the padlock 2. Install a digital lock for the public area to make it access for only guest 3. add a blackout curtains behind the door so the corridor light do not disturb Conclusion is it's comfort than usual tokyo hotel with good access near Akihabara, security like YMCA share room

No lifts. Have to carry luggage up the stairs. Rooms at lower floor have fish smell due to restaurant at the first floor. Request for high rooms if possible. Rooms have washing machine but no dryer. Quad rooms uses shared toilets with no washing machine.

Map is misleading. Travellers should turn right at Macdonalds and then left at the next junction. Hotel is about 50m walk from there. We walked well past Macdonalds and had to catch a cab to back track to find the hotel

good location because near to Akihabara, self service style, tatami-mat japanese style
Very good experience, with first time difficult to contact receptionist officer because must contact through Skype on Pad available there, must be share with our neighbor room-mate for toilet, air-condition, and shower. It has a common room (kitchen)separate with our bed room and living room. The wall made by soft-material or paper so sometimes you can hear your neighbor sound.

No eating or drinking in rooms. Odd hostel type set up, staff was helpful after they finally arrived but have is the keys to another room so we found that all the rooms smell. Having stayed at another traditional guesthouse before the tatami here was not comfortable and having stayed at another hotel in Tokyo after I can safely say that better hotels are available at a similar orice. Don't waste your money or time.

The noise from next room is too loud, due to the "paper wall" is not able to block the noise. But very clean. Toilet and shower room will be not enough when there are other groups stay on the same day. Staff is extremely friendly and nice.

              Cleanliness, Bathroom, Location
Nice Japanese-style residence with clean rooms. It can be a Little noisy because the walls are very thin, the door is made of paper and lets through a lot of light, which was a Little disturbing at night. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

If you're in a budget it's good bang for your buck”
Cleanliness; cool toilet (plentiful on Japan); decent location
I didn't get the usual person that checks everyone in but the person that did handled things pretty OK. I didn't like having to call someone or use a tablet to checkin however, it annoyed me. It takes them about 5min if you can get a hold of them to come over. Sometimes the tablet doesn't work properly or what if you didn't have a phone...YOU'RE STUCK outside basically. The room I got was clean. It had tatami mats, a futon, blanket, pillow, and a small drawer. Instructions on WI,FI in laminate paper. My room was next to the front door though,,not a great room location. I arrive late at night though but one day when I decided to take it easy, a French couple was having checkin problems. They woke me up. The tablet was working properly and the contact number was impossible to get a hold of. I let them in since I've been there and done that. YOU ALL WILL. FYI: get a contact number before heading to the hotel. That way they are there when you arrive and not vice versa. Attention to detail is lacking a bit since they didn't tell the couple the code. Aside from showing them the ins and outs I gave them the code...geez. More people checked in that day...same story. No afternoon nap for me. Overall, it's what I expected for what I paid. Can you find somewhere better for the price? Let me know! One more thing, they use prehistoric gigantic locks to lock your room. They are easy to unhinge of they work at all. Bring your own COMBO MINI,LOCK...trust me. Oh, the walls aren't as thin as some alluded but I'm not a light sleeper so who knows. It's a typical Japanese house made into a hotel so the construction will not be of soundproof quality. Thin walls...not for you romantic couples out there!
