Really luxurious hotel with cosy and peaceful atmosphere with high end service ( With a butler)”
Hôtel not far away from nite marked in a suffficient secluded place to enjoy quiet environment. Rooms are high end with amazing bathroom and separate dressing. Exterior véranda allows to rest in comfy conditions and building is wonderful all in wood with unique architecture. Priceless
137 Pillars was a beautiful hotel - the atmosphere was serene and pretty, and our suite was fabulous! Toto, our butler was so nice and accommodating and helped us with reservations every day. The pool was so cool - a great place to end the hot Chaing Mai days!
Amazing place ”
137 is amazing. Exactly how it is in the photos when we were first deciding on the place. The way the place was built and the theme of the rooms were really nice. If you are looking for privacy this is the best and it is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. We used the gym and pool, everything was great. We had a butler named TOTO and he was great too. I had him on whatsapp so everything was very convenient, asking for late check out or just what to do where to gowhen I’m out. Only thing that could be worked on is their breakfast spread. I stayed there for three days and got board by the lack of choices and almost similar food everyday. Other than that the breakfast staff are nice and friendly!
Room decor and service were impeccable. Sincerely attended to and taken care of from the moment of checkin. Indeed you may find more staff than guests! We had some hiccups in the middle of the night. The hotel handled in a very caring manner and offered us an hour of complimentary massage. We really appreciated. We had not intended to have massage in the hotel coz there were plenty of choices in town. But turned out the experience was nice. The set menu of traditional food was good and offered a wide variety though we forgot to ask for less spice. Having had so much Thai food through the week, we enjoyed the western dishes in Palette. We couldn't tell it served French or Italian but we ended up dining there twice. Afternoon tea in the library was also enjoyable. We didn't leave for town during our stay. Love the room, the outdoor shower, the bathtub, the balcony....Will definitely return.
It's a perfect hotel for a relaxing vacation.”
This is the best resort I've ever stay in my entire life. The room is perfectly clean and I love the bathtub. Moreover, the pool is so clean and the staff is so nice and sweet. Although it is just a one night stay but it gives me the best memory in this trip. Shall i will be back to Chiang Mai again, 137 pillar house is my top choice!
very beautiful decorated hotel ”
My stay at the 137 Pillars House was great. the weather was nice and I spent my time in the nicely designed terrace happily. the breakfast was not that good and the selection was so limited. Overall, I like this hotel.
Stunning step into colonial history ”
The 137 Pillars is a delightful place to stay. Immerse yourself in the stories of Chiang Mai of old and the early days of the East Borneo Company. Everything about the place is perfect. We went there to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary and were really impressed with every detail of our visit. The stunning suites, delicious Thai and European food, cocktails at sunset on the lawn, the lap pool and even a small museum showing you artefacts of the restoration of the house. We savoured every moment. If you love history, and appreciate great design, the 137 Pillars is not to be missed.
Inspiring hideaway with prime location”
It was a short three night stay at this fantastic boutique hotel and from the very arrival we felt the service will not disappoint us. We were staying on the first floor overlooking the lawn and the swimming pool, as well as the famous 137 Pillars House where in the evening, charming piano music was spilling out and reaching us at the veranda. The suites are spacious with large walk-in closet combined with a gorgeous bathroom with a free standing bathtub and a choice of in-door and outdoor shower. We loved the iPod dock with an iPod mini plugged into a Yamaha hi-fi with great selection of ambient music. Pool gives enough room for doing few laps and overall serene atmosphere is further enhanced by a stunning green wall. Breakfast buffet was a delicious treat although, we could never have enough fresh, local, tropical fruit. Freshly made to order eggs as you like them and waffles were a sweet consolation. Coconut yoghurts and traditional Thai coconut desserts wrapped in pandan/banana leaves are a must try! At one of the two restaurants, we tried some of the recommended dishes from the Thai selection for dinner on the first night and found all the dishes very flavorful. With only 30 carefully restored suites the hotel is an absolute gem when it comes to privacy…BUT a boutique hotel targeting Guests seeking for a unique hotel experience and paying extra premium for just that should not be allowing families with kids under certain age. Our stay was somewhat spoiled by the young couple blissfully ignorant of other people, with a one-year old toddler. Having said that, we would love to return to 137 Pillars for a longer stay to linger longer, hopefully with no crying babies around this time!
My home in Asia! Unequaled Everything!!”
This is my 3rd stay at the 137 Pillars this year (and I just booked another week in November). The first stay was unimaginably wonderful, and It just keeps getting better. The rooms are large, extremely comfortable, and include everything you could possibly need. There is an atrium off the bathroom with an outdoor rain shower that is unique (I never used the indoor rain shower). The porch has a very comfortable day bed and overlooks the garden and pool that is the center of the hotel. I love the staff. They are remarkably friendly, attentive, and professional. Even when the hotel is full they make me feel like the only guest. The grounds are beautifully kept and provide a quiet, peaceful, and relaxing atmosphere. The breakfast buffet has a huge variety of fresh fruits, cereals, egg dishes, pastries, Etc. Chiang Mai is a beautiful city with a good variety of interesting things to do and see, but I would recommend you go just to experience The 137 Pillars. See you there!!!
Very nice hotel”
This hotel is good if you want to spend time in the hotel more than sightseeing. The hotel is nice for just relaxing in it, swim, and have afternoon tea. It's not too far from popular restaurants by the river. The rooms could be a little more private. Although there are trees and bushes along the walkway right by the rooms, other guests can still look inside the rooms quite easily. Other than that the breakfast was good but not great. Still, overall a good hotel.
The hotel is located in a residential area, very quiet and private. It has a colonial feeling to it. The room is big, clean and comfortable. The staffs were very polite and helpful. However, the spa was a bit expensive and I did not enjoy the food that much.
Five star luxury and the comfort of home!”
the most wonderful hotel experience i have ever had. the 137 pillars is not a 5 star hotel, it is a 10 home experience. there was no part of my stay that was less than perfect. the beautiful spacious suite with all the amenities was extremely comfortable. the small garden off the bathroom with the outdoor shower was unique (i never used the indoor shower). the staff was incredibly helpful and the smiles were genuine. i was walking back to the hotel one evening (i was 4-5 kilometers away) when one off the front desk staff recognized me and stopped to offer me a ride. never had that kind of service before. i enjoyed chiang mai, but would consider returning just experience the 137 pillars again.
Nice hotel, great service”
We are impressed since the first step into this hotel. The atmosphere was very nice. The front staff was very friendly and humble. They seemed to memorize all the guests staying at the hotel. The accommodation was outstanding. The services were great. Breakfast was nice. We will definitely come stay here if we have another chance to visit Chiang Mai.
Medium-sized hotel with excellent staffs and room!”
The hotel room is very well designed with many functions and facilities. I love the outdoor shower and the balcony where you can enjoy chatting in front of the room with outside fresh air. At night, the hotel is quite and peaceful as it's not next to the main road so you can really enjoy the quite night. The location is pretty close to everything so it's just perfect for me.
Quiet and lovely hotel with good service”
We stayed for only 2 nights coz the hotel is fully booked. It's really worth to stay with its very quiet environment and beautiful decoration. The service is effecient and effective, all staff are very nice. We did enjoy a very good stay there.
nice hotel with a wonderful architecture”
very lovely hotel. everything is just like those photos on the website. i was picked up by the hotel limousine and greeted with a refreshing towel and welcome drink. the landscape is beautiful and the room is well-decorated with a very nice bathroom with an outdoor shower. the staffs are also fantastic and well-trained. the breakfast was superb. i just dont wanna leave
worth every money”
the hotel is not located at the center of the city but it took me just 15mins walking across the ping river to the tha pae gate. the hotel is very nice indeed, the staffs were all helpful with the smile. the room is very well-designed and decorated and the best part is the bathroom with an outdoor shower. there were lots of choices for breakfast from american, thai to healthy dishes.
Fantastic decoration and comfort but with a price”
Loved the room and balcony of this new boutique hotel! I would definitely recommend it to couples. The hotel is at a walking distance of the popular and trendy restaurants that are located along the Ping river. The colonial style hotel is very charming and would make a good choice for a honeymoon stay. I am not sure though if I would recommend it for families. The pool has a decent size, but lets face it…its not the club med!
Beautiful and quiet hotel”
It is amazing about the garden and room. My favorite part for this hotel is the room. It is big and very beautiful. With large balcony , bath and indoor out door shower. Restaurant is also great . Food is wonderful . You can order everything from the menu. But something can be improved to make perfect. For example floor and balcony is not 100% clean. I can still feel things while walk by bare feet.
The room was elegant and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helped me to book restaurant and Spa.
