“Ok stay”
I had very high expectations for 137 hotel given the stunning photos displayed online and the positive comments but I was slightly disappointed. The hotel actually has outstanding hardwares. On the positive side, the pool is one of the best pools out of the myriads of stays I had in Bangkok. It’s big enough for swimmers with a panoramic view of the Bangkok skyline. What made it even stand out from others is the jacuzzi which was located on the corner, spacious and personal. Very good for couple who wish to relax. However, the staff was inattentive, didn’t really greet the customers and seemed pretty distant. They cleaned up very slowly and given the limited number of sun beds at the spot, some guests seem to struggle to find some seats. Some staff were even on their phone. I would say it is quite a waste of the good hardware it has. The staff in general are well-trained but compared to other five-star hotel you feel that their exchange of greetings are standard phrases and are not particularly attentive to your individual needs. They have a greeting card at the room with some welcoming dessert. The staff escorted you upstairs which is good but the overall feeling is just a bit procedural. The breakfast choice is not a lot and given it’s semi buffet in nature, the staff are very busy to take care of each guest. I am wondering if this is a good model to adopt as guests may feel a bit not off when they had to wait for the menu to come or confused whether they can take a seat or not. However, the manager Lek is very attentive to guests’ need and greet each guests nicely. She even tried to chat with you and recommended the 27th floor restaurants which is the hotel’s signature restaurant offering a wide range of fresh specialities from different parts of Thailand. She made me feel so special. The room was cleaned very well, the bathtub was awesome. The bed I have to say, is the best bed I have ever stayed in any hotel. It’s so comfortable that every morning I struggled to get up. This hotel is good, but it did not stand out from other hotels of the same tier because of the points I mentioned earlier. But with better management I trust that it is not hard for it to find its position to call itself a highly rated 5-star hotel again.
