Very good, the place I want to come back”
Natural place, simple bungalows in lushy garden, almost at the end of the beach, next to turtle center, and in opposite direction near to small village with few basic shops. Cuisine is good, they have nice bar. Staff very helpful. Two bungalows are in towers directly on the beach, the rest is in the garden, several metres from beach. Next to, there is bigger resort-like hotel, not matching to the rest of the place, although they have sort of sport equipment to rent. When on Juara beach and looking for natural place but with some quality Coconut is good choice. Although when with children you should be aware that rooms are rather small (16m2), with basic equipment -i.e. no refrigerator, no wardrobe to put things in. Apart from existing beds an extra matress to sleep on can be provided.
Amazing location and views; lovely staff”
I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff were so friendly and helpful. I felt very welcome and comfortable. The room was well appointed and Comfortable. The food in the restaurant was delicious! There were a lot of geckos (and gecko poo) inside the room! I would also advise you to bring insect repellant because there are a lot of sandflies around. All in all, I had a lovely relaxing stay and would highly recommend this place.
We think it is the best place on juara beach. The sea is very clear. A little coral reef is near by. You can lend snorcheling equipment form the neigbour (the barat). Lots of food alternatives around this place. Also visit juara turtle project. It is also the neighbour of coconut grove. Jasper, his son and stuff are very friendly and polite. You can always get the water bottles refilled with filtered water from the nearby water fall. The water honestly tastes really good 😀 You can also order nearly everthing at jaspers restaurant 😀👍 We can really recommend this place 😀
A gem in Tioman Island”
It took us about 30 minutes to reach the place by 4-wheel-drive car from Tekek jetty. We were charged RM35 per person. Upon checking in, we were served with welcome drinks. The staff are friendly and helpful. Jasper is such a good person. Location: The rooms are just in front of the beach. I am not sure whether the beach is private or not but we could find some privacy here since it is not crowded at all. The sea view from our room was so stunning. The beach and garden are very clean. It's a perfect spot to swim, view sunrise and take photos. Room: The room is furnished moderately. There are no tooth brushes and tooth paste. A refillable water (free) bottle is provided too. Each room entrance are equipped with a water tap and hose to help you clean up yourself from beach sand. There are rollable wooden blinds hanging on the tinted windows instead of curtains. It's totally fine during the day but when you turn on lights at night, people outside can see the inside of the room. Therefore, for guests who prefer privacy at night, bring some scarfs or light blanket to cover the windows. It is also recommended to minimize usage of air cond during the day since it could dampen the room floor. Food: For breakfast, you can choose one of four main menus which are combinations of bread, egg, baked beans, butter, honey and waffle. You also can have your lunch and dinner here. However, the price is quite pricey. Service: They can arrange water activities such as snorkeling for you. The speed boat will come to the beach to bring you to different snorkeling spots. Husband and I will definitely revisit this place. It's a gem in Tioman Island.
Idyllic beach bungalows”
Lovely friendly bungalows around a surprisingly good restaurant and bar. Rooms are no frills, but the aircon works well. But you are on a white sand beach with healthy coral, turtles, baby reef sharks and loads of brightly coloured fish. There’s no currents for snorkelling and the coral starts about 50m offshore. Our 11 and 8 year olds were happy swimming out and drifting around for hours. Boats go out to other sites every day. And there’s a dive shop one side and a turtle sanctuary the other. Thanks to Jasper and his team
One of the nicest spots we have ever visited.”
We came for 3 nights and stayed for 8 nights and only left because we had a flight home locked in. Juara is not party central, but is stunningly beautiful, relaxed, people are friendly, low key, and it is a great place to unwind. 1511 Coconut Grove is the pick of places to stay. Comfortable simple chalets on a stunning waterfront, good restaurant and food, great staff, well run by a helpful hard working family backed by a good local team. Jasper the manager is excellent, his two teenage sons did a great job running the place when Jasper was unexpectedly called away. He must be very proud of the boys. Can't wait for an opportunity to return with the family.
Nice and quiet stay”
We stayed at a tower there and enjoyed everything. Gorgeous view, quiet area at the end of the Juara beach. Friendly stuff who were always ready to help with anything we asked. The restaurant there is also good with reasonable prices, meals are tasty and fadt-served. The only thing i have to complain about is the bed and the bed linen itself. It is made of syntetic what is easy to get out of place. Always had to make it up again and again. Anyway, it didn't spoil the overall feeling - the resort gave us unforgettable memories and we'd like to come back
The location makes up for minor flaws”
1511 Coconut Grove is a boutique hotel, at the southern end of the beautiful beach of Juara with around 10 chalets. Booking the ocean view keeps what it promises, you might regrett having booked the garden view. The huts are simple but clean. However, during our 3 night stay no housekeeping was done. AC is loud and inefficient and bathroom could need a makeover. Don't bother booking the breakfast option, the three choices are variations of a slice of toast, a tiny amount of canned beans, two eggs and three tiny pieces of a sausage. Much better breakfast (also local) options are closeby (e.g. at the Barat). A day tour (jungle trekking, snorkeling at Coral Island, etc.) can be booked at the reception. Even if the hotel could need some improvements, for what it is, 1511 Coconut Grove is a good place to stay at in Juara if you want to stay a couple of days at an amazing, remote beach on a budget.
Great place to leisure”
We stayed in an ocean view chalet for 3 nights and had awesome time. Very good place to relax, leisure and play at beach. This vacation reminded us of our trip to Maldives; though water and sand is not comparable, but still... Pros: 1. Complete Value for money 2. Very helpful staff; they accommodated our request for vegetarian food. Also allowed us to use microwave to cook our own food. 3. Never hesitated or rejected any service request Cons: 1. Bit far from Tekok Jetty and the way is hilly and narrow. 2. Sometime, unexpected guests like lizard and insects can have visit in your room. 3. There are not much recreational/activities to do in the coconut groove but actually they are available to you just next door at Barat resort at same price. So this Con doesn't really matter. 4. No swimming pool. At first we thought who needs it when you have whole South China sea at your door step but because tides/waves were too strong (in Oct) so our 3 year old kid was not able to enjoy in water.
the best place on the island :)”
I was in Tioman with a friend in August 2018. We stayed in a few places in Juara Beach and Salang Beach, but this complex is absolutely number one on our list! Conveniently located chalets; amazing, unspoilted beach with pristine water; very few tourists - it felt like a real paradise! The food in the restaurant is delicious and affordable, the staff are very attentive and friendly. On top of all the great things there, the owner is very approachable, chatty and will share a lot of interesting stories about Malaysia and other countries in Asia. Overall 10/10. Highly recommended!
Coconut Grove is located right in front of nice beautiful Juara Beach. Long clean and white sandy beach, near by snorking spot and walking distance to Mentawak Waterfall. The hospitality is great, the resort staff is friendly and very helpful. They can bascially help to arrange everything for you if you need help like car arrangement, snorkling trip, and etc... Or I should say the people in the island is just great and helpful. The room is clean and comfort. The air-con is cold enough and hot shower is working fine. The internet and your data plan in this area is slow, but App for text purposes is still working fine. Forget about movies download or Youtube watching, it hardly work here. It is time for you to move your eyes from smart phone and look at the beauty of surrounding. No TV in the room. But why do you need TV during holidays? Thanks to Coconut Grove by giving me such as great escape... we will return again in future. Thank you.
Everything is perfect”
We had a blast here!the staff are friendly and the hospitality is at its best!the place offers a peaceful and relaxing stay for everyone..highly recommended to honeymooners or couple.we enjoyed our stay here and we will surely come back!
Thank you to the friendly staff. We enjoyed our stay. The resort is at a far end from the main road to Tekek so it's quite a walk towards the village. If you want peace and quiet than it's perfect. On my last day around 10am I got bitten by sand flies, which should not happen as they supposedly bit between 6 and 7pm, according to resort staff. Well, it's not accurate. I recommend wearing swimming trunks and shirt and be mindful of the little buggers. The bites stay with you for a few weeks - so not a very pleasant reminder of the resort.
Extraordinary beach and getaway”
We had a good time there. It's clam and located just by the beach. The stuff are very friendly. Food are ok. We did scuba diving and snorkelling there. Such a good long weekend to get away from city island like Singapore. Here are tips or more info : 1. It's 30 RM /person/way from port to resort. 2. Located far from city, the signal for internet was not good. Also no TV in the room, so prepare stories to talk to your partner or book to read. It's good to detox from digital things! 3. No hair dryer, for long hair lady, it's good the bring your own. 4. We prefer local food at the resort than the Barat (the besides hotel) 5. We took flashlight, it's very useful when you walk in the night.
Absolutly stunning ”
Would deffinityly go back and for much longer. The lodges where great everything you need and so close to the beach, such a lovely view sitting on the terrace!! staff were lovely and always willing to help and book things for you. I would recommend the coral island boat trip so stunning in a marine reserve and lots of fish to be seen (take a loa of bread with you to feed the fish and attract them) Very clean and all nessesities you need. The resteraunt was lovely food and very reasonable also would deffinty recommend eating with them. Loved every minute and wished we stayed a lot longer
Friendly owner and easy to talk to. She went to the extent of drawing a map to explain the route to the waterfall. Had a nice stay. There are some eateries around within walking distance. However, do take note that there is no TV in the room.
We really enjoyed our stay at 1511 Coconut Grove. Juara Beach is on the other side to Tioman and 1511 Coconut Grove is at the far end of the beach. It's a bit of a trek to get to but totally worth it if you're looking for something peaceful. The manager and staff were very accommodating and their little bar on the beach was absolutely perfect.
Romantic stay at Juara beach”
From what I saw this is the best choice in Juara. Bungalows are very comfortable and close to beach. Staff was very helpful, they showed us direction to waterfall, good snorkelling in Juara beach (near Beach Shack) you can rent paddle board, go to snorkelling trip... Garden and restaurant is very nice/romantic and food was delicious (try rather local cuisine, continental wasn't so great ). This is the closest resort to Turtle project so you have the biggest chance to see the turtles if you are around them.(dont wait that TP will call you even if they promise, just go there when is lot of people on beach). Be aware of sandflies everywhere on Tioman so bring with you some insect spray and baby oil that helps.
Nice and cozy”
We loved this place. Agreed with all the reviews. This place has its own charm. It is located next to the Bharat Tioman. But i felt that i made a wise decision when i booked this place. The Bharat was so busy compared to Coconut Grove. Not so many people at the beach, so its a bit privacy. You can book for all your beach activities at the reception. Nice and clean room. Good food. Friendly lady at the reception. Overall it is so worth it to stay here
1511 Coconut is located at almost the end of the Juara Beach so it is clean & has such an amazing view. Cleanliness is very good, staff are all very friendly. Food taste was ok but I need to wait for almost 1 hour for the food to be served. Overall, it is a good experience.
