Good location for business traveller”
stayed at 196 bishopgate service apartment whilst in london for work and it's a relatively enjoyable experience especially due to its proximity to offices around liverpool street area. however, slight drawbacks of the hotel include the lift being under repair at the time of visit as well as its proximity to the main road and bars which make it sometimes quite noisy at night.
Ideally situated business serviced apartment”
stayed at the Bishopgate Serviced Apartment for 2 days whilst i was in london for work and the location was very ideal for those whose office is around Liverpool street area. Will consider staying there again.
All-included hotel in great location”
The hotel staff is friendly. The hotel is located near Liverpool Street Station, which is centrally located in London city and convenient to access to major attractions. It is a service apartment, which include kitchen with oven, microwave oven, washing machine. We cooked for our breakfast and dinner. There are some bars near the hotel, so it may be a bit noisy if you stay in lower floors. I highly recommend the polar bear bar nearby, the burgers are very nice.
Convenient, comfortable, roomy and just GREAT! ”
The hotel was located right in front of the Liverpool street station, surrounding by so many nice cafe with Tesco and M&S foods open till midnight nearby. Staff was friendly. Room was very roomy with own kitchen and facilities. Love the place.
Pretty good for 13 nights”
Stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment. House keeping was lovely, did a great job. Kitchen well equipped with 4 pots, set of knives, wine opener, cutlery in sets of 4, oven, microwave, dishwasher, mini fridge. Great location, tesco express just downstairs, Liverpool Street station opposite. Police st Cons: Shower stall is a tiny corner, not sure if bigger folks would fit easily. Bed is small for 2, especially if one is restless sleeper.
Stayed here for one night only, location and good reviews were my main criteria to choose this hotel as I was travelling with a small child. Staff were very friendly, location superb and apartment very spacious for central London. Felt very safe at night, we had a quiet room with a window out the back. I could make myself a coffee before we left the next day which was nice. Would definitely recommend even for longer stays due to great facilities and location. Room was very clean and tidy, heated towel rack in the bathroom a plus.
Great value for money”
The apartment was great and the staff very friendly. However, the staff at the reception were not on top of things. I had a package delivered and they said it had not arrived. I had a confirmation of the delivery and when they rechecked, they found it. I requested an extra pot, they said they would bring it up in 5 minutes. The next morning I was called to say it was at reception. I was expecting another package and it was right next to the receptionist behind the desk and when we picked up the luggage, she did not even let us know. Thankfully I asked again and she went, oh yes, here it is. So client service at the reception needs to be improved. But I would stay here again.
very good, but needs some improvments”
no doubt , the location is excellent in any respect. the 2 bedroom apartment was very nice, modern and cozy, well equipped just how we like it, but few things still need improvement: what about a coat hanger? almost essential in London. we had to hang our coats on chairs and sofas... doors of all rooms had no option to keep them open . we had to improvise a solution. this is not what one expect in a nice modern and not a cheap apartment. the staff is not attentive to complaints. it took 2 days to get a heating device to replace the non functioning system in the room . (temp. were in the region of 6 degrees C). and last but not least, Good Morning, Hello, Good evening etc' are not in the verbal repertuar of the staff at the check-in desk. this is very unusual , particularly as it contradicts the nice comfortable and welcoming aprtment.
Lots of small flaws leading to overall disappointment”
Here's my problem with this place - they are not entirely honest, and they are utterly lacking in imagination and an ability to visualize what a customer might like. To wit: 1. The Agoda website shows that they have a gym. They don't. What they have is agreements with a gym "nearby" and another of their branches that's a tube stop away - so yes, it's not very far but at 6 in the morning nobody wants to commute to a gym and it's not the same as having one in the same building 2. The room is nice but isn't really thought through very well. For instance, on a long stay, a minimum requirement is a proper coffee machine (even a French press would do) instead of a very basic instant coffee 3. The "free breakfast" is a basket that has a banana, an apple, a small box of cereal (same flavor every day), yogurt, orange juice, a pint of milk and a croissant. Exactly the same thing, every day. Would it be so hard to change the flavor of juice and the type of bread and cereal from day to day?
Beautiful apartment just where you need it.”
Perfect location for going around the quirky streets of spitalfields. Gorgeous apartment that is clean, comfortable and safe. The only downside is the noise from the street outside at night. You definitely need earplugs!!!!
we enjoyed our stay , unfortunately the lift was out of order ,reception staff welcoming and very obliging.the location is excellent but noise can be an issue even in the back apartments but it did n.ot last long
Awesome experience at bishop gate! woRth it!”
Staff was extremely helpful and this place is worth every penny!!! The setup is awesome, made our stay in London a very pleasant one. Def would come back and recommend this to all my friends! Our package included a breakfast which was a great touch. Thank you!!
great room, corridors in disrepair ”
The room was fantastic, but the corridors were in a rough state of disrepair, including the elevator which was out of service. Workers left the back doors open, and wood shavings, tools throughout the hallways which seemed unprofessional. The actual room was very nice, and location great too!
I love my stay. The apartment is decent size.A cleaner comes in every morning to clean and change the towels. There is a lift and concierge service which not every apartment has. The best thing for me is that is right opposite my office. the only down side is there is no white light for make up. Otherwise all is great! Would definitely be back!
Very Helpful Staff”
The hotel was in a great spot and fairly priced. There was no noise and the room was spacious with high ceilings although no view. Staff were very helpful at check-in and I was able to get into my room at 1pm without any fuss or additional payment
Our stay was excellent and the hotel as a whole was excellent. The receptionist was very helpful and attentive. The stay was only marred by the dangerous condition of the electric handrail that was overhanging the end of the bath!!! This should have been fixed with four screws but two were missing and the cheap plastic fittings had split thus it fell away from the wall over the bath. Never, never should an electrical fitting be placed over the bath for very obvious reasons. The towel rail was fitted in a position where people obviously thought it was a handle and an aid to step out of the bath which caused the fitting to work loose. This has obviously happened before as there were four screw holes but only two screws had been replaced, in any case the rail should not be sited at the end of the bath over water!!.I pointed this out to the receptionist who immediately moved us to another room and apologised profusely.
Awesome! A home away from home. Felt rather safe with the police station just two doors down. Though the entrance was along a bustling street, apartments were mostly tucked behind which provided a quiet stay. Kudos to the housekeeping team for making my apartment such a welcoming sight to come back to after a long day.
Last minute booking for London meeting”
Booked this hotel at the last minute after being summoned to a meeting in London. The location was great and the tube was easily accessible. The room was spacious and allowed me to complete my work before attending the meeting early next morning. I will definately book again for meetings in this area of London.
Great location but ...”
196 is located in a great location accessible by train (Piccadilly line). However, the facilities were somewhat of a disappointment; lift was inoperative for nearly a week, microwave oven inoperative & their was no concierge present on early morning checkout to assist with luggage from upper floors.
The price is kinda too high but the location, facilities, cleanliness and staffs are all excellence
