Excellent service & location”
1st & foremost, the staff are super friendly and accommodating. Had a long chat with the manager and he explained both the high standards of training while his love to be able to connect with customers, which explains the lovely atmosphere at 20th Street Hostel. Other travelers commented that the WiFi here was the best in Yangon. They allowed us to use the toilets and shower even after we checked out while we waited for our night bus later that night. A/C was excellent in the private room. One thing is that there was no note indicating the water/soft drinks in the fridge were NOT complimentary. Regardless, we would definitely stay here again.

Great for private rooms”
We arrived very early and were invited to have free breakfast before we'd even checked in, and to use the WiFi. We declined as the bench seats were already full of people sleeping (also waiting to check in) and we didn't want to sit on small stools or the floor for hours until check in, so we went out to find a cafe. When we did check in we had a private double room with a shared bathroom, after not wanting to go back to the previous place we stayed at in Yangon (Agga Guest House). I wish we'd stayed here the first time round, too! The room was spacious, bright (despite having no window - it had 3 well-placed strip lights) and clean, and even had a mini-fridge with drinks in. The walls were thin but our neighbors were mostly considerate. The bathroom was clean enough with good showers and plenty of hot water. WiFi was slow but reliable. Breakfast was crazy, as there aren't enough seats and you have to grab the eggs quickly when they come out of the kitchen, before someone else does, queue for the toaster and hope there is a clean glass to make a tea/coffee. They also offer lunch/dinner but we didn't try any. Staff were brilliant and gave me a map and recommended some sights in the city, and called us a taxi to the airport. For the price, this was a great stay, I'd definitely come back!

Our home in Yangon”
The 20th street hostel is very well located in the center, the breakfast is ok and the toilets also. The staff is really friendly and helpful, difficult to find better than that. By the way the rooms are not much airated so they can be humid during the night. We recommend this hostel anyway.

Conveniently located”
I like this hostel because it has all what I'm looking for in a hostel. The bed was spacious, the bathroom too and we had a hearty breakfast. It was also clean and is conveniently located at the heart of Yangon, just walking distance to main sightseeing in the city. Regards, www.annalaviajera.com

Great location & clean”
We stayed at 20th street hostel for a total of 4 nights. Such a great location across he road from 19th street food markets. We stayed in a double room. It was clean and air con worked well. Bathrooms were just down the hall. Staff were very friendly, limited English.

Very nice hostel with a private atmosphere”
20th street hostel is a good choice to stay, if you're looking for a central place in yangoon. The location is right in the mittle of everything. The dorm rooms with ac have private cabins til one bunk bed in each. Gives private atmosphere if you wanna have a private moment. The place is nice and clean. Breakfast is included, but it's mainly burmeese sweets and toast.

Convenient location, great breakfast”
We arrived at the hostel earlier and couldn't check-in until 2PM. They were fully booked. The common toilet and showers in the second floor were quite dirty and old. I was very uncomfortable with this. When we finally checked in, we stayed in one of the dorm rooms which was actually very nice, clean and cozy. The bathroom in that room was very clean and neat. Breakfast was really good as they served local food and they were generous with the amount of food. The hostel's location is very convenient as it is in China Town and it was very near the long stretch of food vendors at night. Aircon was our saving grace as well. Yangon heat during our stay was unbearable.

It was a good experience. I would definitely recommend staying at this hostel when traveling to Yangon.

Cheap for Yangon, but needs some improvements”
The hostel staff was welcoming and they even let me eat breakfast before check-in time. They seemed a bit disorganized though. 20th Street is near the ferry pier and not too far from Sule Pagoda. There are a few things that could be improved. The bathrooms weren't very clean and twice during my one night stay there wasn't any running water in the dorm bathroom. The locker key that I was given didn't work and there isn't any place to lock up valuables before check-in or after check-out.

Cheapest and the nicest place to stay in”
I don't see any cons about this hostel. It was the cheapest we found on agoda. Their breakfast is amazing and you can eat as much as you want. Their menu changes almost everyday and is always nice. Tea and coffee is free all the time. Beds are very comfy with curtains, with your own socket and a light beside every bed. The staff is very nice. The hostel is pretty clean. The shower is a little slow but that was ok with me. It's close to China town and a night market, where the food is nice and cheap. I stayed for a night as soon as I entered Myanmar and I again booked this hostel for 3 nights before leaving the country. I would definitely recommend this place.

Good hostel for the price ”
The hostel is very good located in Chinatown with very good street. The room is simple with air con. The hostel is very old. We had a double room with no bathroom. The staff was polite but they don't speak English. Good hostel if you want to visit Yangon.

In downtown...”
Really enjoyed the location of this place, in the hustle and bustle of downtown and right next to the infamous 19th street. The hostel was clean, modern, comfy and had everything a hostel needs. Definitely one of the better hostels I've ever stayed at.

Incredible staff, great location, decent hotel”
Endless compliments for the staff at the hotel. They were so friendly, helped us plan everything and were so courteous. One staff was out in the floods with us for 30 minutes helping us get a taxi. The location was also great, down in the core downtown. About a 20 minute walk to the Sule Pagoda and from there we could walk anywhere. Really great and affordable food nearby and next to 19th street, which has a great night life. The hotel itself was bare but it did the job. Adequate bed and shared washroom, no huge problems or surprises. It included free breakfast, which was coffee and toast. The hotel always has free water and Internet. Will be staying here again on our way back, particularly because of the staff and location.

funky rooms”
the stay was nice. had to get used of Yangon standards. put up a mozzie net because of possible insects entering the room. mouse droppings behind the curtains were a bit of a let down from the cleaning department. would stay here again though due to the great staff and central location. the beds themselves are fine as wel.

great guest house ”
except for the wifi , which is bad at every guest house in Myanmar, 20th St was great. It wasn't central to the sights but the chinese night market is right there.

Good time!”
Great area for seeing Yangon at it's most vibrant. Good drinking spots on 19th, a few nearby markets, lots of food stalls everywhere.

Nice, young and helpful staff, I arrived around 4 in the morning I had to wait untill check-in's time (at 2pm - like in other many places in Myanmar) but the guys there offered me anyway some breakfast that morning. the hostel is somethink basic but it has anything you need for a good price

Good budget place in the heart of Chinatown ”
good location near to food street 19., also adjacent to night market on strand road. Easy to find. Staff friendly and helpful. Maybe one of the best deals in this area. Rooms are clean and fresh bedding gets changed daily. Breakfast simple but ok, self service coffee all day available in lobby. --- shared bathroom, shower need upgrade as it's a nightmare to take a bath in there. Rooms with and without windows are same price but depends on availability.
