Our home in Yangon”
The 20th street hostel is very well located in the center, the breakfast is ok and the toilets also. The staff is really friendly and helpful, difficult to find better than that. By the way the rooms are not much airated so they can be humid during the night. We recommend this hostel anyway.

Staff was so friendly. We sometimes enjoyed chatting. And one of them invited me to drink with his friends in night market. There were so many colorful paintings on the wall. So we could enjoyed also staying.
Worst place imn Myanmar”
This was the worst place we ve stayed as far un myanmar. Not cheap for myanmar standards and it was really: the shared bathroom with rooms attached to it, no windows in any room, very humid and dirty. No information or what so ever not for visiting the city, niether for train timetables. We came down the first day for breakfast, it was awful, they just went across the street to buy some chicken stuffed ball amd it was the worst. They offered us to stay an extra night for free... but... thank you but no thanks.
very friendly staff”
great a.c., bed is VERY comfortable compared to most places in SE Asia. lots of bed sheets and blankets! a great place to escape from the heat and have a great sleep! breakfast is also great - a yummy egg omelet with toast, coffee, bananas, great way to start the day!
I like this hostel because it has all what I'm looking for in a hostel. The bed was spacious, the bathroom too and we had a hearty breakfast. It was also clean and is conveniently located at the heart of Yangon, just walking distance to main sightseeing in the city. Regards, www.annalaviajera.com
Amazing hostel, just remember to ask the staff to k eep the AC on for you in the night. We went out at night and when we came back the AC was off and without remote control. Normally I stay for long in a meditation center with only fan and I am so picky when go to the city to have some nice cold experience :)
good price, nice staff, close with 19th street that is good for local food. if i will go to yanggon again, i will stay here. robby is good for sharing experience. so don't worry about your plan. u can ask. it is good choice.
Excellent service & location”
1st & foremost, the staff are super friendly and accommodating. Had a long chat with the manager and he explained both the high standards of training while his love to be able to connect with customers, which explains the lovely atmosphere at 20th Street Hostel. Other travelers commented that the WiFi here was the best in Yangon. They allowed us to use the toilets and shower even after we checked out while we waited for our night bus later that night. A/C was excellent in the private room. One thing is that there was no note indicating the water/soft drinks in the fridge were NOT complimentary. Regardless, we would definitely stay here again.
Affordable and comfortable place to stay”
It was a pleasant stay. The staffs are the best. They are so kind, I once work at the lobby until late and the night shift's staff made me a cup of hot tea. The room is one big room, but separated by thin wall every bunk bed, so you only share 'the room' with someone in the same bunk bed with you. Giving you a little more private space. I booked in Agoda and stated that it doesn't include breakfast, but they gave it as complimentary in the morning. Surprised me!
amazing staff, good location”
The room was adequate for our what we were looking for (cheap and good location) Rooms were small but we spent most the day exploring the city. Aircon worked well and the breakfast included was a great bonus! Staff really friendly.
Incredible staff, great location, decent hotel”
Endless compliments for the staff at the hotel. They were so friendly, helped us plan everything and were so courteous. One staff was out in the floods with us for 30 minutes helping us get a taxi. The location was also great, down in the core downtown. About a 20 minute walk to the Sule Pagoda and from there we could walk anywhere. Really great and affordable food nearby and next to 19th street, which has a great night life. The hotel itself was bare but it did the job. Adequate bed and shared washroom, no huge problems or surprises. It included free breakfast, which was coffee and toast. The hotel always has free water and Internet. Will be staying here again on our way back, particularly because of the staff and location.
Absolutely Gross, room not clean in years”
I have very basic needs when it comes to accommodation. I never leave bad reviews. Only good ones for the properties I liked. But this place requires me to warn others. Under the bed there was literally an inch of dust. My partner closed the curtains and got a face full of dust, all in her eyes. The Air conditioner smells of mold and mildew and needs to be serviced. The staff was nice but obviously don't do their jobs properly. I recommend everyone avoids it. There are other properties with similar price and amenities in the area. This place looks nothing like the photos on any of the booking sites. I recommend Agoda to take them off their website. I usually use booking.com and will continue. I want a refund from Agoda, for false advertising.
Too dirty. Nice staff”
Really nice staff but that unfortunately does not change the fact that the place is dirty. Mould smell in my room (double bed) and stained sheets.
Good budget place in the heart of Chinatown ”
good location near to food street 19., also adjacent to night market on strand road. Easy to find. Staff friendly and helpful. Maybe one of the best deals in this area. Rooms are clean and fresh bedding gets changed daily. Breakfast simple but ok, self service coffee all day available in lobby. --- shared bathroom, shower need upgrade as it's a nightmare to take a bath in there. Rooms with and without windows are same price but depends on availability.
Good staff, room smell not good and unsafe , I booked it via Agoda and saw the price very good and picture show on web also good but when I met the real not good and I travel only one woman room door not ok! But staff very good service ,i need hotel to renovate hostel as soon as possible and post real update picture
Close to the Night Market”
Pros: - Walk I distance to the night market and ATM machines are just around the corner - the receptionist was really helpful as she offered to help us get a cheap taxi to Aung Mangalar bus station but eventually end up pairing us with another couple going to the same bus station which still worked out cheaper as we split the bill - most importantly the WiFi actually worked!!! Cons - Damp smell in the room although it was cleaned before we arrived - shower could do with some upgrading. It is really basic. One of the bathrooms does not have a shelve to keep bath cosmetics while you shower - no hanger for drying wet towels. The temperature was very humid so the towels weren’t dry the following morning so we had to use the same smelly, wet towel again. - Cold breakfast - You won’t have plates to eat if you don’t turn up for breakfast on time.
Very good place, I stayed there for 3 nights: friendly anf helpfull staff, quiet, the dorms has plenty of space and privacy with the curtains, delicious and diversified breakfast!!! Just the toilets could be refurbished, but it's still clean, and some lights were not working.
Nice staff, Bad accomodation”
We loved the Service and the staff in General. They gave u all we needed. The bathrooms were „ok“. Our room had no Window and was dirty. ( empty bottle under the bed, hairs in the bed) Wifi is To slow To use your Netflix Account. Breakfast was a Little Bit poor.
Cheap but Smelly blankets, Toilets without lights, Steep Stairs /:”
Booked two nights but ended up leaving after one - the whole building had a certain foul smell, the blankets smelt like sweat of many travelers that hasnt been washed for damn long (we requested a change but still smelt bad), stairs were steep (tho i believe its common in Yangon), the lights in the toilets were spoilt or nonexistent, spotted a few huge ass lizards, breakfast was soggy french toast, didn't have laundry service, bad wifi. Only positive point was staff were friendly and fluent in english, but there are many other hostels out here that's much better and for just a couple of bucks more.
Good value for money and nice breakfast”
Nice, young and helpful staff, I arrived around 4 in the morning I had to wait untill check-in's time (at 2pm - like in other many places in Myanmar) but the guys there offered me anyway some breakfast that morning. the hostel is somethink basic but it has anything you need for a good price
