Thank you for the lovely time!”
I LOVED this place!!! I arrived earlier than I was supposed to, they said it was no problem and welcomed me with a drink. My room was beautiful, and very relaxing. I liked the feel of renting out the whole building, instead of just a room. Love Lane is a touristy street, but the hotel is located closer to the end of the street where it is not as loud. I also had a chance to talk to the manager (or may be the owner? I wish I asked her) of this place, which made the stay even more special. She told me that the broken ceramic pieces in the glass table at the lobby were something they found during they restore the building. From there, she showed me the book about the restoration of this place and the process of painting walls that was going on at that moment. She also told me that they were also in the process of choosing tea to go more environmentally friendly. It is this small facts that makes the whole experience special!!!

Lovely hideaway on Love Lane, Penang”
If you are looking for a cosy hideaway and love being surrounded by retro furniture and beautiful art, then 23 Love Lane is the best place to stay. You are made to feel right at home. Just pick a book from the library upstairs, sit in the area facing the garden, help yourself to a green apple, banana or biscuits (provided for guests), and you can lose yourself in this charming mansion. Join the bustle in the evening by walking out of the hotel into Love Lane's many restaurants - most of which have live music at night (don't worry as you cant hear this from the hotel, yeay!!). The staff are all very friendly and accommodating and will make copious amounts of coffee and tea for you throughout the day. Really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back.

Most awesome hotel in Georgetown ”
We loved everything about this place. Room was charming and roomy. Super clean. Close by local restaurants and temples. Staff here were helpful and amazing. They even made a take away breakfast because we had an early tour. We cannot say enough good things about this little hotel and staff. We would recommend to all our friends if they were coming to Geo town 😀👍🏼

Quaint, lovely and private”
What a beautiful house! The rooms and shared common areas are traditionally decorated, lots of space to hang out, and a lovely garden. The service is welcoming throughout our stay, with lots of fruits and biscuits for our taking. Also, the afternoon tea every evening. This is a very central location, and walk everywhere, with lots of food around. It can get noisy at night, with the nearby bars, although this did not bother us. I believe there are some quiet rooms though.

A quaint, cozy and cultural stay in the heart of Penang”
Travelled with girl friend and had a wonderful stay at this very beautiful heritage property. We requested for 2 single beds but somehow it wasn't prepared; hence they upgraded us to the Indian Anglo Bungalow room which we really liked as it was in the same wing as the upstairs lounge called The Library. We Due to the pandemic, they were close for a while and the sheets were musty but they had those sheets changed after we asked them to. Also due to C19 still rampant, we bought and took away delicious Penang street food back to our hotel to enjoy in the Library which was just outside to our room. The staff even provided us with plates and cutlery, and there was a counter with snacks and coffee and a SINK in the Library for guests. We also made sure to clean up after ourselves since they have a skeletal staff. Pros: - Location: perfect as it was walking distance to many wonderful sights esp Chulia Street where good food is. The place was also quiet as most nearby bars must close by 9pm (pandemic SOPs). - Property: Heritage style with high ceilings. Our room was spacious, air-conditioned and had strong shower water pressure. Beds were comfy, pillows fluffy and duvet was thick. The bathroom was also spacious with modern amenities with no bath (thank goodness). There were enough furniture in our room to put everything on top off and in. And there are 3 plug points for multiple phone chargers. - Staff: kind, friendly and helpful. Cons: - No car park. You have to park on the street next to the hotel. Also download the Penang parking app to pay your daily parking. - Heritage house hence open space concept hence mosquitos. Carry a mozzie spray with you. But they do give mosquito coils for the rooms. - No hair dryer but we didn't need it. I'm sure the front desk will have one if you asked to borrow one. - Our room had two paintings facing the bed which were giving us bad vibes - one was of a little girl and the other a middle age woman, both looking at you no matter

Excellent 🤩”
This is a heritage building that is well taken care of. Decent and cosy room as we stayed at the Jack Roof Annex, suitable for couples. A little noisy on Christmas Eve due to bars nearby otherwise it was a great stay with a group of helpful and friendly staffs. The welcome drink was very nice overall the ambience is perfect for a holiday in Penang. Location wise was awesome.

Loved the space!”
We had a really spacious 2-floor space. It gave us such a really cool experience of a shophouse stay. It was clean and the attention to our needs like chilled water, coffee and tea were all available in the kitchen. We spent a tonne of time snuggled up in the couch upstairs netflix-ing on the huge TV. It was a really great stay!

Fantastic place to stay for group family holiday ”
We have a wonderful stay with a whole house by ourselves! Lower floor with 2 large sitting area, dinning table and kitchen Upper floor have 3 large bedrooms with attach bathroom and a large sitting area. 2 King sizes bed and 2 single beds, bed is so comfortable that we slept better then we had at home LOL We loved the place so much that we can't stop telling our friends and families how gorgeous the house was. Walking distance to many street food and a pub is just next to our unit that served very good drinks and food. Breakfast and afternoon tea is included, staffs are friendly and helpful ! Only commends we have is the the kitchen area is not clean and we noticed that the bath towels and floor towel is folded back neatly and hang back on the original rack like fresh new towel but in fact is our used towel on our 1st night.

Lovely place and great hospitality”
Hotel looks better than seen in pictures. Very nice cozy and relaxing. We stay in straits eclectic room type and the room is really spacious. In the afternoon they have snacks and tea which is really good. Our friend stay next door in the same type of room but their room was a bit dark, not as much natural light as ours and we stay on the ground floor. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Location is just great. Can walk around George Town easy.

Good location. Very helpful and friendly staff. Quirky rooms rather than luxurious. Good place to stay for a couple of days. Recommended.

One of the best hotels I've been”
Honestly, I was worried about what if the hotel is old and dirty because it is an old Peranakan style building. However, it was not modern but a clean antique hotel. Very pretty and was also impressed by the small cute garden. It does not have a swimming pool and a gym but you are not in Penang for swimming and weight lifting. Every famous attraction, food stalls, and restaurants in the old Georgetown area are in walkable distances (mostly within 15 minutes). Now because Grab is so prevalent airport can be reached in 30 mins by paying 30 RM and 10 to 15 RM when you go to the Penang Hill (+ Kek Lok Si temple) area and Gurney drive area. I highly recommend this place. Just one shortcoming - my room key did not work properly.

Can’t get better”
Everything good from check in to stay to rooms to service. My family of 4 really enjoyed our stay in this hotel that is conveniently located in the UNESCO area yet quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Rooms and bathrooms are huge and it has everything anyone needs other than a bath tub. Special mentions to Erica, Ah Kee and Devi whose service are commendable.
