The staff were amazing, security excellent, the breakfast was delicious. The only problem we had was the lock on the bedroom door was faulty, very difficult to open and close. I would recommended milkwood guest house to all my friends. Thankyou .

Quite overrated”
Our room was small and also the bed was rather small, we slept somehow. Somehow this house is lacking liveliness. The staff is kind of stiff. Some decent music during breakfast could loosen up the atmosphere. The manager Nicky is a wonderful radiant person and gave us plenty of very helpful information about good restaurants and made sure we will end up at a safe place in Umtata. Hopefully Nicky will be able to change the dull atmosphere in this guesthouse. Thank you Nicky, you are still in our hearts.

The Manager Nicci is extremely understanding, friendly & accommodating. The rooms are extremely clean, the atmosphere is very quiet & relaxing and the car park is very secure for your motor cars.

The owner is unprofessional and arrogant in dealing with clients’s problems and needs. For example, I had booked 2 rooms to accommodate 4 people since each room was advertised to accommodate 2 people, but on getting there we were told each room can only take one person unless we pay more money, implying we had to pay times 2 the advertised price. We tried to reason with the owner But he’s very arrogant, very rude and has a “go to hell “attitude. I think he has a racist tone as well . I was hosting relatives based in the UK and had driven almost 600km to this guest house but we were compelled to leave the place regardless of the fact that we had fully paid, we couldn’t bear the attitude ,we were forced to leave and find an alternative. His unprofessional attitude is terrible for the hospitality industry and Agoda should not allow them on their site coz they damage the good brand that Agoda represent

On arrival, we were greeted by staff and a menu thrust at us to choose our breakfast for tomorrow. We were not shown to our room just pointed in the general direction. Thr room was very cramped. No toilet roll holder in bathroom, toilet ran all night. The TV channels are very poor. Breakfast was microwaved, overcooked,rubbery eggs and bacon. On the second morning we requested scrambled eggs only to be told that we couldn't have them because the food had already been cooked, so it would seem that what is originally ordered you are stuck with for thr rest of your stay. On the second night of our visit we returned at about 10 pm and had to stand in a cold carpark and sign in our details on the guards log sheet (wierd). There was no evidence of any management during our stay and the kitchen staff were very surly. We will not be back,

IT was fine for an overnight stay.........not good for a holiday. room is too small, no covered parking, yard is small. too close to neighbours and they have view into premises, therefore not private enough.

Had to ask for the pool pump to be switched had not been put on for a long time, slime (brown) over the stair one stair into the pool. 2 broken pool chairs to lie on. Owner never appeared in the 4 days we were there. Staff friendly but not able to run a b&b on their own. Will not go back.

We really enjoyed our stay, except that we were disappointed that the room was very humid and the aircon was not cold enough. Breakfast was great, only available from 8am, so if you have an early morning you have to forfeit the full breakfast deal.

It’s definitely for lone business travel ”
If you’re travelling alone and need a quiet place with Wi-Fi and breakfast it’s good. There was a sign that said no visitors allowed in my room so I guess they don’t want noise and crowds hence suitable for business travelers. It has a home feel to it. The location is excellent. There’s also clean pool in the yard. There’s minimal options for breakfast but the options accommodate everyone still. The staff will assist you with whatever you need in the facility. I was a business traveler I slept, woke up and went to work refreshed. It’s a guesthouse not a hotel okay. Thank you
