Good staff ”
Change breakfast menu
Only staff asleep on the couch when I arrived. I get you're tired fair enough, maybe understaffed but not great for guests standing there knocking repeatedly until you wake up. Worst part was receiving a towel with a living bed bug nestled in. Scanned my bunk for more but didn't see any. My pillowcase looked used with hair on it. Bathroom was tiny and fairly unclean but could have been worse I guess. It was very cheap yes but there are plenty more affordable hostels in great locations nearby that looked a lot cleaner, so I'd spend your money there instead if I were to recommend. Sorry 60s hostel just an honest review, I urge you to put more focus onto your cleaning standards :(
You will regret if you stay this property .
Value for money👍”
Pro: affordable hostel, clean, comfortable bed, good air-conditioning facilities, no bed bugs👍, free liquid soap and shampoo plus hand wash, reading lights and outlet for charging, free light breakfast, equipped w/cctv, honesty of staff and guest at its best👍, 24hrs reception area. Cons: tiny comfort room (only 2 rooms) can't accommodate high volume of guets, no lockers for luggage , good thing our roommates were honest☺. ☺value for money, cleanliness and honesty of the people. I would like to commend receptionist (forgot the name/I think he is an Indian national) for helping us in our itinerary and booking cab going to airport😊 Thanks 60's hostel and Agoda😉
Transferred to The Hive due to overbooking ”
I was transferred to The Hive hostel opp 60’s Hostel upon arrival due to overbooking. Although I was pretty disappointed that the beds in The Hive came without curtains, the beds were kept clean and every guest are given a comfy blanket :)
Good and nice staff”
This hostel is a bit but still walkable from MRT. There is free breakfast included in a restaurant nearby and the staff is so kind. Darwin showed me where to visit and how to get there. Also helped me about places to eat. The other girls and guys are also very nice. Free coffee and tea, plus fresh water for drinking all day long. Nearby that are restaurants and 7/11 shops. The common area is pretty small. Wifi works very well! I initially booked 2 nights but ended up staying 5 nights! I recommend it !
The facilities are generally all in good condition. However, the rooms are quite murky and sometimes can be quite smelly when air-con is turned off. Too bad, windows can't be opened as the warm air from air-con machine is right outside. The beds and pillow are pretty comfy too. They will provide more blankets if you ask.
The best hostel I've stayed”
Stayed there for two nights. Easy to find the place, access to bus station and mrt station. Super duper love the curtain they provided which can give you little privacy. Washroom is clean. Simple breakfast is provided by the cafe nearby. Will come back next time
This hostel is pretty good”
When I first saw the pictures here, I was quite in doubt. But it wasn't as bad as how pictures show. It was rather clean and tidy. The rooms were quite murky though. Most of all, I liked the breakfast. They provide a foodcourt voucher which was just across the road (never seen any hostel giving away a breakkie coupon!). You get to choose kaya toast/chicken bun and eggs and tea/coffee. I stayed 4 nights with my mum and I've booked here again for another 3 nights! Definitely worth the money and its location is another bonus.
Always get a receipt”
Beds and bathrooms were still good. But the staffperson who checked us in took 50$ for our security deposit and did not give us a receipt. When we checked out, they only gave back 40$. When we said they owe us 10$ more, the man looked through the records and did not find a receipt for the security deposit (because we werent given one) but the staff who checked us in lied and wrote in the logbook that he only took 40$ from us. We decided to let it go since we had to take the MRT to the airport but beware. Make sure they give u a receipt for everything.
The beds were clean and comfortable and the free wifi signal was good. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful (although the morning cleaning guy was slightly grumpy). My one and only criticism is that the bathrooms could be a bit better. They were not disgusting and had no bad smells so they were clean, however they were not as well-kept as the rest of the hostel.
Nice Place to Stay”
Bus stations and Farrer Park MRT Station are nearby, lots of restaurants around. The only issue is the noise from the temple next door, but it's not that much of a problem. Would definitely stay here again.
This is my first time staying in a dorm style hotel. And 60s Hostel gave me a good experience. I still have privacy because of the curtains per bed. You also have your own socket per bed. Have to walk 5mins from hostel to where you eat your breakfast, but it's fine because you'll be able to appreciate the morning rush in Serangoon Rd. Will definitely stay here again if I come back
Best hostel for among so many ”
Cleanliness - ***** Comfort - **** Location - **** Design - ***** Security - ***** To think that I would ever write a review for a hostel for the first time. Why spent your sleeping hours on this you asked? Put it simply because it's too darn good to be real.$15sg per night with air-condition and free breakfast .Theres even a drying and washing service for your clothes under $4sg.A socket for every bunk without having to share . Strong WiFi. Cold and hot water provided.A microwave oven too .Chinese and Indian cuisine all over place. The nearest mrt (Farrer Park) is 10mins walk away or a 5mins walk to the bus stop which takes you to town area ( orchard and bugis). No way you can get this elsewhere. Probably cost you more than 30sg.This is a place you don't wanna miss in your life.lets keep this place clean and continue to support for its success
Nice hostel for backpackers which is 10-15 min walk from Farrer Park MRT Exit G. ”
Nice hostel for backpackers which is 10-15 min walk from Farrer Park MRT Exit G. I believe there are two or more exits make sure you go to Exit G (where it says City Square Mall - just ask the locals or indians) bY following the directions inside the MRT. You'll know you are in the correct exit if you see City Square mall outside the MRT. Then, turn LEFT , youll pass temples, some pubs/clubs. They offer free breakfast (coffee and bread/butter). Note that preparing your breakfast is self service. Unlimited coffee and tea. They also have microwave should you want to heat your food. Nearest hawker center where you can eat budget food is in Tekka Center which is opposite side when you exit Little India MRT. Or, you can head to Chinatown which is 4 stop from farrer park mrt. When you exit Chinatown MRT , you can see right away the food stalls - just roam around and find the stalls where you want to eat. Tip: Buy a Singapore Tourist pass at the MRT inside the airport. Take a MRT to th
Only if your budget is super tight”
It's 10 min walk to Farrer Park station. Only stay at this place if your budget is super tight. Bathroom is really dirty, needs serious cleaning. I like that the beds have curtains so you have some privacy, which is why I chose this place to begin with. The wall beside my room is so dirty though, and my girlfriend said he killed a bed bug! I didn't try their breakfast, better to go eat at some other place outside since you're in Singapore.
Heavy bed bugs all around!!! Could not even sleep Airconditioned on circulate specific location Checked out the early morning instead of staying 2-nights
You get your money’s worth. ”
Although we only stayed for 1 night and 2 days, I believe it was enough for us to see that we only got our money’s worth. No pun intended. The hostel’s staff is very friendly and accomodating, location is wise its good, there is a walking bus station. The room itself is cozy and our beds were clean. There were only 2 cons that really made me disappointed, 1st the bathroom, we expected the bathroom to be small, but the things that disappointed us, was that it was dirty and unorganized. 2nd things is the complimentary breakfast, it was bad. Bad enough that I wasn’t able to eat even the scandbled egg (it was too oily..). You don’t get to eat your breakfast at the hostel, you have to go to the restaurant just a few minutes away from the hostel. There were 4 of us, and none of us finished all our food. :( Could’ve been better. Oh well, knowing Singapore, we only got our money’s worth. 😅
Friendly staff, clean room, good location”
Recomended hostel in singapore Next time if i go to singapore, i'll back to stay in here. Friendly staf, room full Ac, large room with inside bathroom (family room), but not tv in room but its okay with the low price. And once more near to Mrt and halal restaurant.. Near to bus stop . Near to city mall, mustafa center and the best choice for your stay..
Value for Money in Backpacker Area”
60's Hostel has the essentials - a clean bed with privacy curtains, an okay bathroom, WiFi (though a bit spotty). The privacy curtains were a huge factor for me picking this place over other hostels. Was worried about staying in a mixed dorm (as I'm a solo female traveler) but it went by without a hitch. Spend your SGD on more worthwhile things like shopping or the hawker food! Located between 2 MRT stations so you can access Little India stop to get to places. Would stay again if I was on a budget!
