88 Hotel Atjeh
The facade and the hotel lobby newly fresh, some work still going on the rooms and an upgrade is really need as rooms are old style for Muslims alike, regarding few facilities inside. One single electric socket in all room, a bathroom where the toilet is still the old fashioned latrine sink and, worst of all, no lavatory nor a single mirror - 3 items I've never faced by its absence in hotel worldwide... Breakfast served in the open air, among workers on the working site itself, food cold, no cold water, ants all over...
I enjoyed my star at 88. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very large, bed comfortable, cold shower only. Everything is relatively new. House keeping was good. Breakfast small Indonesian affair.wi fi good. Plenty of parking. A little out of town but walkable. For price it was good value. I recommend .
Its far from city centre and no lift at all.”
1. Location : its not walking distance to masjid baiturrahman and pasar atjeh. Nothing special around this hotel. Go car to city centre cost about Rp 14.000 2. Food : Limited choice for breakfast but it consider okay for the budget price. Got one restaurant in front of hotel. 3. Shopping : No souvenir shop near this hotel. 4. Facilities : Internet was ok in the room. But so disappointed with the room. There is only one plug point which is use for tv. No other plug point to charge handphone. Shower cannot be used! No flush for toilet. No lift to our room at level 4. Only staircase. Not recommended for family with older person or babies. The room looks like nobody ever used it. 5. Staff : Luckily the staff was very helpfull and allow us to check in early (3 hours earlier) without any extra pay. 6. Value for money : For RM 93.27 per night i could find better hotel near Simpang Lima and City Centre. A lot of restaurant and souvenirs shop in that area.
Nice room with very comfortable huge bed. Bathroom had squat toilet, cold shower and no hand basin. This was a bit strange for us. But for many I’m sure would be fine. Breakfast was good - rice, noodles, vegetables and egg plus tea and coffee. Not really sure about the location - we only stayed one night and were just transiting to the ferry from the airport. Friendly staff.
Value for money stay & clean”
Recommended. Clean & strategic location
Value for money”
The location of this hotel is strategic... near to the central of Banda Acheh. Near to the attractive places like Masjid Baiturrahman, Pasar Atjeh, etc. It is also easy to find public transport (motor taxi) and its cost me not more than 20k Rp to travel from the hotel to the city centre.
quality but not central”
Newish hotel within 20 minutes walk to tsunami boat. Far from central area of town. Restaurant opposite served good selection of local dishes. Side restaurant where breakfast was offered, only offered indonesian food. coffee shop around corner had very good choice. Good for overnight stop only despite squat toilet.
Not bad but can be better”
The location was a little bit off from the city. Staff is, thoughtful, friendly and helpful, front desk offer to have my breakfast packed early in the morning at 4.30am so i can have it before on board. Kudos to the sweet effort!
my 1st Aceh Trip”
Awesome n good. The food. Comfy bed. Aircond and staff :) 100% recommended for my next visit! Insyaallah :) Dislike 1) no water heater 2) fridge to keep n store our drinks+fruits 3) wifi in room not stable. Lobby good. 4) not provided extra pillow for each room.
The hotel is clean and nice with adequate basic amenities. However, it has no escalator/lift .. so for those who stayed on the 4th floor (like yours truly!!!).. be prepared to climb up the stairs the staff were very helpful.. Food was just ok... but I really like one stall just next to the hotel... Called Mie Acheh Abah.. really delicious noodle...
A pleasant stay”
I stayed here for 3 nights from April 17th 2016. The room was cleaned everyday, the aircon works, the bed was fab. The toilet is smallish but clean, water pressure was ok but be warned the the the toilet was the squart type, no flush (a bucket was there in the bathroom so that you can 'flush' manually), no lift but the bellboy is happy to help with my bag. Also need to mention that there's only ONE plug outlet in the room. Breakfast was ok. Food stalls and eateries can be found outside the premise.
I had a very nice stay at 88 Hotel. The facility is brand new as of January 2016 and the room was clean. This is a safe, comfortable place to stay in Banda Aceh if you're travelling on a budget. Only downside was I couldn;t figure out how to get hot water from the shower. Not a big deal since it't hot as balls in B.A., not like you really need a hot shower (or should want one), I'm guessing that it was just because it's a new building. But honestly, other than that, this is a good place to stay.
No lift ”
Book 3 room. Double bed at 2nd floor and single bed only at level 4. theres NO LIFT! Room was okey but difficult for older person age 55 above to walkup until 4th floor.
worth for money”
i would like to come here again next time
Nice hotel but no hot shower”
staff friendly with good wifi
New hotel. No elevator. Toilet kind of weird.. no flush.. shower facing the door. Hotel is clean.. Staff is good.. Will stay again if i'm coming to acheh next time. Value for money
Value for money”
Clean, comfortable and value for money. Location a bit far from the town but not so bad if you want to stay away from the crowded town.
good and cheap
No facilities to use credit/debit card No lift, not aged/disabled friedly
Basic clean facilities. Better than tune hotel”
Staff is very helpful. wifi signal is quite fast when we first check in but as the crowd starts to fill up, the line gets slower. Word of caution for lift chair bound, there is no lift going up and the rooms are from 2nd to 4th floor. We got free breakfast and sufficient for unpicky eater and nothing fancy. Toast, hot drinks, fried mee and rice with one dish. Quite ok for budget travellers like us. 2km from banda aceh
