“Not worth the money”
We have stayed at Koh Kood for 4 nights - 3 nights at A La. Let’s start with the good - the room was nice and the staff was also nice. The beach next to it is amazing! The restaurant was very nice and the food was delicious, but pretty pricey. But the quality was equivalent to that, so it was fine. But… here are the negatives: 1. Very loud rooms - meaning you could hear people just walking in the corridor. Since it’s not on the ground but above the water it’s even louder - people were stomping and even though I sleep with earplugs - I woke up from the vibrations… staff was making a lot of noise in the morning, 6:30-7:00 am… like come on, people are on vacation and want to sleep and relax… 2. The road to the hotel - we have been around the whole island and this was really the worst road. It is pretty long and what people say is true - I don’t understand how such a “nice” hotel can have such a bad road leading to it… same with the “bridge” to the beach - it was broken and they just don’t care to make it better… 3. Breakfast - there was no protein. You can choose a meal, which contains 1-2 eggs and that’s it. The rest is just carbs and fats - pancakes, fruit, veg and toast, jam… where is the protein? We eat a lot, since we work out and we were disappointed. It was yummy, don’t get me wrong, but it was just not enough for us. Also the coffee machine took forever and there was only one… 4. The smell - when it rained or when the tide hit it smelled so bad - like from a canal or something. That wąs disgusting sometimes. 5. We got room service 1x and the person didn’t clean the floor. That’s what we wanted the most, since sand was everywhere… 6. The equipment was pretty old, the one for snorkeling for example. We had a nice time, but we stayed at different hotels throughout our 3 week journey and this one was the most expensive - and it disappointed us. It’s not worth the money. It’s way better to stay at the Bang Bao Beach, which we did for our last night and it was 100x times better! Best beach to stay at is the beach next to it: We Ao Jark Bay and Beach. Stay there to have the best experience!
