Decent hotel on the outside of Prague”
This establishment offers both hotel and hostel style accommodation. I stayed in one of the hotel-style rooms, which were very comfortable. The hotel is popular with travellers young and old, from all over Europe. The establishment is quite far from the town centre but is not far from Strizkov metro station. There were not many restaurants or bars nearby when I stayed but food and drinks were available at reception.
The clean hostel ”
The internet was OK , The room was clean , the building is new Everything was OK But the direction come here is 1st You must arrive into metro strizkov station 2nd You must go outside from the gate closed with Dr. max apotekery 3rd You must cross the road 4th Just go straight and have the direction of A&O Hotel and Hostel I hope this information help you so much Thanks
The hostel was very easy to find from the nearest station. The night staff when we arrived was horrible - foul attitude and unfriendly towards us - and we were happy not to have to interact with her again. Booked a twin bedroom but got a room for 4. No other guests joined us. Big, bright room. 12th floor with an amazing view of the city. The layout of the room was good (maybe even a bit too much space). The area near the windows was given a couple of chairs and a table - very nice to have breakfast on. Windows don't open all the way. The shower was big and spacious and had good water pressure. Breakfast downstairs was well-stocked and had a lot of variety to choose from. Only 4€. Would 100% stay here again if I didn't dislike the city so much. Hopefully the other A&O hostels have refurbished too.
A comfortable stay”
The hotel is slightly out of the city centre but it is only a few stops away using the Metro. The staff were helpful and kind. If you decide not to eat at the hotel's cafe, you may opt to prepare your own meals at the kitchen for the guests.
It was close to the Metro, around 5 mins walk. The room and toilet are clean. I like the breakfast meal .. with good salad options. There is wifi service in the room. There is no English channel on cable so don't expect to get an update on the news or catch up on any movies.
This is a good cheap place to stay in Prague ”
I stayed in a really cheap room that had a shared bathroom and shower. The door had a piece of foggy glass in it, so if another person had stayed in the adjacent room, they could have seen my blurry figure. I didn't know I would be staying in a room like this. I would check to make sure that you aren't sharing the bathroom and shower with a stranger. It could be very uncomfortable. The other creepy part about staying here is that the hall lights are timed to go off. So when you come in and out of your room at night it is pitch black. If you need frills and bells this is not the place for you. If you are use to sleeping in hostels then then is fine.
Easy access to city center”
About 10 min walk to the metro station. If you have a rentacar, you can find a free parking space easily. Better if there is a Refrigerator in the room.
Very noisy !!!”
The hotel was ok, outside of the city, 10 min walk to subway (and the take 15min by subway to go to city center). The room are ok for the price and clean but the problem is IT'S TOO MUCH NOISY ! You hear all the doors of the level, the hotel staff make so much noise, if you are close to the lift, you will hear it as well... So, hope you are a heavy sleeper!
Good for the price”
Last minutes booking and the price was reasonable. The room is nicely and clean.
Not for Czech citizen, staff doesnt speak Czech and price expensive”
Price incl. laundry, towel and breakfast same or higher than ordinary hotel. I used to use standard hotels and penzions. Since i was going to save some money i chose hostel. Promoted price for one bed in 6 beds room seemed to be very nice BUT it was price without laundry, towel and breakfast. When i asked for all that staff the price is more than double. For such high price i can find hotel with room one bad one night incl. breakfast. If you wish to any softdrinks in automatic machine, there are overpriced too, almost double compare to shop prices. So if you dont want to share room with 5 noisy snoring buddies, overpay for drinks and service and you are speaking Czech choose cheaper and MUCH more comfortable HOTEL no hostel.
Fair price, public transport with good conextion for city centre. Good restaurants near by.
Pros: close to metro station Cons: Its not clean i.e. there is stain on bedsheets and the floor are dirty. On the second day the cleaner left the tap running with a sponge in the sink (what a waste of water) and left towels on the floor. I use my own towels so it doesn't bother me that much but the stain on bedsheets is a bit disgusting.
We stayed for 8 days in total. First reservation was made for 7 days and were given a big room with 6 beds. Then, when we made a reservation for one more day.. they told us that we were in a big room and had to pay more.. indeed, we were given a big room but that is not on us and we shouldn’t have payed more... and we were told the check out was at 11 and when checking out were told it was at 10. It looks like they want to charge you for their mistakes. The elevator didn’t work in the first floor so either you had to go to -1 or to the second floor to take the elevator, considering Everyone had luggage it was horrible and annoying...the hotel was being refactionated.. which meant hammer and drill sounds everyday from 8am to late in the night...dust also.. i don’t know how a hotel is receiving people when it is under construction... Common sense.. everybody smokes even though it is forbidden... Breakfast; well they do not have fruit salad.. nor do they have scrambled eggs
It is not a bad hotel, everything to the price was expected for a budget hotel. The only bad thing is the location, a really dark and creepy area! That same night someone broke into a guest car.
Wonderful week at a&o hostel Strizkov ”
Good Room, renovated and ckean. Nice staff, in particular “Mahmoud” nice and professional. Thank you
"Sometimes it happens"”
Their system had the booking record, yet it failed to actually book the room, and all rooms had been booked when we arrived. They couldn't refund immediately since they didn't have cash and the other option was to take the room in a&o Rhea where, of course, I had to explain everything from the start plus why we even were there. Staff was helpful but it seems they always work in chaos, there always was somebody at the reception having issues with something. Never experienced this before, so definitely can only recommend to avoid it at all cost.
HIDDEN FEE + too far from metro station”
I am not recommend this hostel to anyone. There is hidden fee. For the first time of my life I had to pay for the bed sheet. It is unexpectable with the hostel this type of quality. The staff is not so friendly both the reception and the person I sent the feedback. He even not reply me after 2 email. The metro station and supermarket is pretty far away from the hostel. However, the facility is good and clean.
Bad at all”
The location is out of nowhere but we are lucky since we just stopever for a night stay before go to Prague airport next day morning. Elevator only 1 working and can accommodate only 4people so have to wait long queue. Arrived there late at night and only 1 staff a man who controlled the reception and also the bar counter. POOR HIM. HOTEL should consider the.comments from members here.
The staff is unfriendly ”
Pros: it’s cheaper than the hostels in city center Cons: however the room is so noisy and smelly (there is decoration every day near our room and so noisy to sleep ) Tell the staff about that, they’re unfriendly and distant. To be honest, it’s far from the city center
Hotel is decent cheap and not to far from the city”
The stay at the hotel was decent not the greatest but not the worst
