    Comfortable

I don't have any complaints about here, but if there was easier access to the beach it would have been even better..One has to walk through other resorts to get to the beach or walk a long distance to find public access, that is my only negative.

Good value for the money ”

    Location, breakfast, big rooms

The stay was great. The hotel definitely needs some updating. The bathroom leaves a little to be desired. However, for this price you really can't beat it, especially on phu quoc. The location is great, you can always get a cab. Some of the hotel staff speaks English but most don't. Google translate is your friend. The breakfast is good and they give you 2 coffees if you ask. It's not on the beach, but I would just walk thru the hotel 2 doors down (blue hotel) and use their beach chairs. You can also go to Bai Sao, which is much nicer and just rent a cab for the day.

    Good Base Camp”

    Service, Price, Cleanliness

Basic amenities as expected but the rooms were well taken care of. Has fan and AC in room which was nice since the island gets really hot, even at night. The power went out during our stay for some extended time but the staff worked round the clock to fix it. The man at the front desk (the owner???) was extremely helpful and gave us great advice on where to go and what beaches were good/bad at that time of season. We were out at the beach and in town most of the time so it was perfect for a comfortable place to sleep and recoup for the next day.

Good location for the main town and the beach -”

    value for money, location, staff

We booked it for the location and value. Our rooms were basic and the fridge wouldn't close properly - also they put my friend and I on different floors which was kind of annoying. However, overall we had a great stay - it was close to the town and the fish market, however we usually went to the other end of the beach every day to hang out. We had a nice stay and the staff were helpful.

    Excellent base camp”

    Staff, cost, quiet

Phu Quoc island is trying to build itself into a "Resort" destination. If that is what you are looking for...then the A74 hotel is not it. However, if you are looking for an inexpensive base camp with friendly, helpful staff...then the A74 hotel is a good choice. The room was acceptable, the staff was very sweet and accommodating....that's all we really seek.

    Relaxing”

Very nice staff, good beds, tidy

Had a really nice, 5-6 night over there. Polite and really helpful staff, relaxed atmosphere and good service. There is laundry service, wi-fi, we took extra night's over there, and it was easy to do it. Reception man, was very helpful in any ways, and even made us sandwich to our taxi trip, because we left before seven. Beach was near by, about 5 min walk. Breakfast is pretty basic, you can choose one item from the list drink/sandwich others pay extra, but it is not expensive, thought. In our room shower was basic Asian style, but there was a fridge, a big closet that you can lock, and comfy beds. If you are looking for beach resot, or nice yard, this is not the place for you. But it was definitely a really good place for ppl who go to the beach, and are mainly at the room to sleep (some hours), get ready for the day or to partying.. And extra thank's to a man behind a desk. I thought he was a star!!!!! If u decide to book the hotel, after this recommendation, please say hellou's to the reception girls from Finland! Hope be there some point!

excellent, friendly and helpful service, reasonably priced and great location

I was only here for one night but the service was fantastic. The host is very friendly, helpful and accommodating. There is free breakfast, free wifi and airport transfers. The location is excellent - easily walkable to the beach or to town. The bathrooms are a little cramped, but the price is very reasonable and the employees are absolutely great.

    Good hotel for reasonable price”

Hotel manager spoke english and was service-minded

Everything was awesome about this place, the room, the breakfast, service, etc - except for the bonus services (renting scooters and laundry)!!! Renting scooters was always a hassle. One morning we waited 1,5 hours and still didn't get a scooter. Usually the manager was vert helpful and friendly. I wish he could have just informed us right away that across the street just a few feet away you could rent scooters on the dot (it was only 50.000 dong more per day, but you got the scooter right away). Instead he said "wait just a little longer" and then again "just 5 more minutes". Also, we left our clothes for laundry, and they came back all destroyed by bleach. Unfortunately we got them back so late so we didn't discover this until we had checked out. If I felt this hotel was a 9 out of 10 when we left - when I discovered our favorite clothes were all destroyed...that rating sank quite a bit. If they can't do it properly, it's better not to do it at all! They probably washed them in the same machine where they wash the hotel towels (with bleach). All clothes bear some kind of stains that I assume is from bleach anyway. :(

    Budget comfort”

    price, location, staff

This is a budget stay in basic Vietnamese style. Comfortable and clean but a bit primitive. Cafe at front of Hotel was great and covenient for relaxing. staff were very attentive and fun. No elevator but staff carried bags up. Limited views from seaview rooms. Access to beach was a bit restricted.

The Manager, who went out of his way to make sure guests were happy. The location, only 10 minutes walk to the Night Market and a couple of minutes to the beach. The Breakfast was lovely

All the staff were very attentive and helpful.Don't be put off by no direct beach access, this is a positive negative because the 5* Hotel next door is agreeable to A74 guests using their beach facilities for the price of a drink.(1 dollar)the sea is great for swimming. There are improvements going on at the A74 to make better facilities for the guests The night market is a must, all kinds of cullinary delights.Visit 777 it is the last on the left as you go through the Market.Bon Appetite

Great budget hotel, off the beach”

    Price, location, friendly staff

We really enjoyed A74. The manager is delightful, speaks good English, and is happy to take care of all your needs. Iced tea is on the house, the banana pancakes for breakfast are delicious, and the in-room internet is decent. Walk to town is about 1 km, and there are a handful of decent restaurants right around A74 if you don't feel like walking to town. The hotel is decently quiet except for construction, but you are going to find that kind of noise almost everywhere on Phu Quoc these days, as development is moving at breakneck speed here. Only drawback is not being on the beach, which is a 10 min. walk away since the resort next door will not let you walk through their property. Phu Quoc is so beautiful, it's a bit of a bummer not to be on the beach. But, the price is right here if you are on a budget.

A few rainy days in Phu Quoc”

Amazing staff (Bao), Clean Room, Good location

The room was nice, but the internet didn't work in the room, so we had to use it in the lobby. Good cable channels which were key because it was raining. The breakfast was good. The staff was amazing. Bao, the manager was very helpful and always smiling. We were to leave to grab a ferry to Ha Tien and he quickly went out of his way to make us breakfast sandwiches, so nice. There was a bit of construction going on. so I'd contact the hotel to see if it is completed. We endured about 7 hours of banging and work.

Nice staff, clean room, good location

We had a very good stay at A74 hotel. The staff is doing an amazing job here, is very friendly and attentive and speaks good english. The rooms are a bit small and run-down, but very clean. Internet and Air Condition were working very well. The location is good as well as it's only 100m to a very good part of Long Beach. All in all a very good budget option for back- and flashpackers on Phu Quoc especially if you get a good discount on Agoda for the room.

Good welcome from staff but tired room”

    Helpful and friendly staff

The hotel is located a few minutes from the beach and about 10-15 to the night market where you can get excellent fresh seafood at a reasonable price. My room could certainly do with renovation. The bed was comfortable but the bathroom had chunks of plaster missing from the wall. No curtain on the window but I needed to get up early to catch a flight.

manager incredably helpfull and lovely, going far and beyond to help us.

The A74 is a great budget hotel with spacious room, with aged character. It's walking distance to the fish markets and surrounded by spas and restaurants. The hotel restaurant does a great included breakfast, but be sure to try the rice pancakes off the included menu, fantastic. The manager is a wonderfully lovely Vietnamese man who will go out of his way to bring you everything, so just need ask and he will help. Also keen to chat about your day plans and provide some local knowledge.

friendly staff, delish breakfast, clean room, hot water, 3 min walk to beach

This place is exactly what you need if you are looking for a clean bed, helpful staff, hot shower and a good breakfast. It is a 3 minute walk to the beach, plenty of restaurants around and cheap, chilly brews. People who aren't road dogs will always find something to complain about.
