Very helpful when we had to cancel”

Helpful Host

We didn't get to stay at Ye Olde Post Office Cottage B & B as our daughter unexpectedly gave birth that morning so we had to head back to Melbourne. Our host was very accomodating by keeping our paid booking available for 12 months, or refunding if we preferred. We travel to Tasmania frequently so will be using it before too long.

Adequate accommodation ”

Comfortable room and bed. Bedding needs updated... higher grade sheets and a lightweight duvet would have been appreciated. We were in room 2, which is very noisy as it is on the main road and right opposite the late night pizza takeaway. Great shower with basic amenities. Breakfast was disappointing. It is advertised as a 'Bed and Breakfast, so we expected a cooked breakfast in the communal kitchen. What we got was a tray left in our room with cold cereal and milk, juice, fruit, coffee and tea. We never did receive any info about how to check in and there was no one on the premises when we arrived. When we called the number on the door, it was answered promptly and we were given instructions re keys. Compared to our other accommodation thus far, it wasn't the best. Note that the business/ building has' for sale' signs in the front yard, which might explain some of the above issues.

Best Value B & B in Smithton”

Clean, Excellent value, Friendly helpfull and obliging owners that go out of their way for you.

The accommodation was very clean and tastefully decorated in period style. We used it as a base to explore Stanley and Arthur River areas over 2 days. The owners were the friendliest and most helpful people you could meet, going out of their way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. They even gave us a free upgrade to a larger room because we were staying there for 2 days. They're full of knowledge about the local attractions and what to see and do. The continental and cooked breakfast in the morning was excellent with a huge choice and very good quality products. I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone who is thinking of staying in the area.

wonderful B & B”

amazing service, flexible reception hours and great location

Was a wonderful stay! Dave was flexible with our check in time, thankfully, as our eta was delayed one hour with the awful weather we had on the 29th. He was very accommodating and made me and my friend feel very welcome and not like we were a burden. Was wonderful to wake up to a lovely cooked breakfast by our host and continue on with the day. Would recommend to any type of traveller, single, couples or family's, they have a room for anyone. Thank you for the fantastic hospitality!

Central cute B&B”

Easy to check in with code for key safe. Pleasant rooms with separate lounge area and bonus two televisions. Very basic breakfast pack and not enough to cover 2 mornings with only 2x juice pack, 2x Sultana Bran serves and a jar of weet-bix and 2x muesli bars. 1 litre long life Lite milk a bonus. We had a toaster but no bread or spreads. It is near to lots of shops and cafes so could get something there. Tastefully decorated with period style furniture and fittings. Would return.

Welcoming”

The hosts were very friendly and made you feel very welcome, Use of the kitchen for home cooked meals, Room was great.

Being welcomed was very nice and was very friendly. We were made to feel like it was home and could freely use the kitchen area to cook a nice cheap meal when we didn't want to go out and eat expensive food at the local places. Room was comfortable and you could easily stay there for a few nights. Breakfast was great. they are excellent hosts.
