The room itself was very pretty, had a good bit of space, a really nice kitchenette and we loved the jaccuzi tub. However; the staff was incredibly obtuse and it was honestly overpriced for how outdated everything was. We did enjoy the quietness of the building, but the walls were paper thin so not a whole lot of romance happened, unfortunately. The bed was alright, pretty old. The pillows were adequate, and they did not include any additional blankets or sheets for the bed. All-in-all, if you aren't being picky and you choose to ignore the attitude of the staff like I did, the room isn't bad and it is very quiet for being directly next to one of the main highways. I give it a 3 star rating, 'cause I'm being a big generous.

When we first arrived we thought the hotel was closed, a sign on the door told us to go next door to the 7 Gables Inn, it didn't look like a hotel so I was a little confused as to where to go I thought I was entering someone's house. Up the stairs and the door to the right, through a dark foyer led me to the owner, a very welcoming lady who explained she has 4 buildings but check in was in this one and so was breakfast. She took us to our room in the building next door, it was at the back and up the stairs, this walkway became extremely icy and slippery over the next two nights and needed more lighting under the arches. Our room was very cosy, warm, clean and comfortable, good bed, pillows and wifi. Breakfast was served between 8-9am in a very homely room where we could watch our hostess cook our eats and delicious they were too. I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel. Our hostess was also more than helpful in recommending what to see and do in Fairbanks.
