I arrived with bus and the staff was smiling, carried my heavy backpack and gave me a glass of limonade when checking in. A very warm welcoming. There were 4 clean bunk beds in the room, and a large bathroom. Served with water and toiletries. They make your bed and provide clean towels every day. Not what expected for a hostel. Breakfast buffet at 6th floor was amazing. Moreover the staff helped me arranging everything. Motorbike and where I should go to in Mandalay as well as bus to Monywa. It's location is central and nearby a large market with veggies, souvenirs and food. A great experience and highly recommended place to stay.

Best in Mandalay!”
Have stayed in various Mandalay hotels before for biz but this is the best of the best in terms of (1) location (2) service (3) WiFi (4) facilities & (5) cleanliness. Almost all staff can speak English & extremely helpful in everything. Very centrally located with lots of cheap street food & tea shops in the vicinity. In house daily free Marionette show during dinner time is a plus. Will stay here everytime when in Mandalay.

Very clean, pleasant stay”
I thought I had booked a single room in a hostel but it was in the Golden City Light Hotel. The room was very small - just as big as a storage room - but it was very clean, had AC and I slept very well. Bathroom was one floor above, though. Breakfast was nice and the staff organises a scooter for you if needed. Unfortunately, as a solo traveller you don't meet new people here because it's a big hotel.

Affordable Hotel with great Staff and location”
I just have an overnight stay in this Hotel but I already felt the warm hospitality of Burmese people. The hotel staff lead by Pyupyu helped me in arranging the pick-up of my pre-booked transport from Mandalay to Bagan. Also she assured me that the transport company will pick me up at the hotel. The hotel served a delicious Burmese breakfast (eat-all-you can). Though the room I booked is a back-packer's room, they still provide complete toiletries. Moreover, the hotel is conveniently located near restaurants and markets. I really had a good stay in this hotel.

Best breakfast in any hostel”
Amazing breakfast, many different meals, kinds of fruit, coffee machine and view from 6-th floor, elevator is available. But there is more hotel guests than hostel guests - so not too good to meet other travelers and share expensive taxi for a trip around Mandalay. Nice staff, good location. Very low price for a small room with air condition in the last minute.

the hotel is located near the mandalay train station (around 10 mins walk); the dormitory is clean and cozy; the receptionists are really nice and friendly, they are willing to answer any questions regarding my trip and even help me book a night bus ticket

Bedroom was clean. Staffs were helpful and professional. To me, the downside was the shared bathroom/toilet, needed to be clean more than once a day. But if you book a room with private bathroom, I’m sure you will have a pleasant stay there. The location is good, close to the local market and the complex.

I booked two nights in a single room. The room was one of the tiniest I ever slept in. It was a bed inside and nothing else. Around 40cm space between bed and wall - but only at one side of the bed. Bathroom was outside and very dirty. Old cosmetic products lying around, a Pringles chips package and so on. I asked anyway to extend for one more night, because I didn't feel so well. I had to change the room for the third night and paid double the price I paid before per night. That room was without windows on the ground floor and very noisy. Staff was always very friendly and tried to be helpful. The hotel is centrally located and you find many motorbike taxis waiting for you outside. As well is there a little NightMarket with nice food.

Very comfortable bed but unfortunately my room was on the ground floor, by the elevator and shared bathroom (even though I had my own) so I could hear a lot of noise any hour of the day. If not for the sounds, i liked my single bed room.

Excellent location with very helpful staff”
Buffet breakfast is superb. Location is excellent and the staff were very nice during my visit. They booked my tour at Inwa, Sagaing Hills , U Bein Bridge and others in an affirdable rate. They also reserved and booked my bus ticket to Nay Pyi Taw where I attended a conference. Very affordable rate with buffet breakfast. That's real value for money.

i stayed one night in a dorm and one night alone. Everything was nice -helpful staff, breakfast, and location- except for the smelly, old and dark room. the odor of bathroom sewer was disgusting, AC smelled weird and showerhead was dirty.
