Spacious double room & comfy beds
We were given room 16 on level 3, which was in the back building where the hotel pool was. We were very pleasantly surprised by how large the room was - it was big enough to accommodate 2 queen size beds , plus a small living area & a little dining table to boot! The hotel was well located on a side street off Oxford St, which meant it was close enough to the entertainment, yet away from the noise at night. Unfortunately on our 2nd night of stay, our sleep was disturbed by drunken guests returning and fooling ard at the pool outside. the hotel shld look into some security measures especially at this back annexe of their building, such as cameras or a nighttime guard? be warned that it takes ard 15 mins to walk to Museum or Central station from the hotel, you're better off taking buses from Oxford St or Campbell St which connect u to the stations or into Sydney CBD area itself. The hotel's AUD15 airport transfer service is also worth the booking in advance.

Tell the cab driver it's Cambridge Hotel aka Abey Hotel
It's actually more popularly known as l the Cambridge HotelThe location is great. It's near 2 bus stop and 2 train stations (either Central or Museum Station). It's also near a great Thai Restaurant at Oxford St. Olive, will greet you with a great smile. We had dinner there for 3 consecutive nights. Only downfall of the hotel was that when we put water inside the water heater to make some tea, there was orange pulp inside! Yuck! We decided to make a 'fake coffee' so they would clean it the next day. However, neither 2 of the used cups were not cleaned at all. They just left it there by the tv stand for 2 days with the coffee still in the cup. My god... Room service charge is per order so be careful how many times you use room service. Be mindful as well of their internet charges as they can be tricky. But other than that, our 4 days stay was perfect.

Convenient location and value stay
I stayed five nights from May 3 with my wife and 80-year old mum on a twin double at the poolside, booked through Agoda, after failing to get an early and clear response from the hotel direct over discrepancies in the total room rates. Besides the clarification over tax, I was later told all room rates were based on two adults, notwithstanding the type of rooms, and additional rates of $30 apply for every adult per night. Can't see why the hotel be transparent and disclose that on the website? Anyway, we were pleased that 300MB of WiFi was provided daily, however, for one device only. You need to logout from the device to access from another device. Rather cumbersome and irritating though. You also have to pay to use the desktop computer at the foyer, whether data is used or not. Not to be distracted from the hotel facilities, we found the hotel conveniently located in Surry Hills, an affluent, lively inner city, eastern suburb of Sydney. The hotel is also about 30-minutes walk from the Central Station or Chinatown, and easily accessed by bus from the busy Oxford St, less than 5-minute walk away from the hotel, to Circular Quay. Do get the Opus card for a cheaper travel around, instead of taxi, to avoid paying more due to the traffic. There is also the Aldi supermarket and many eateries and shops closed by, within the precincts of Oxford St and Crown St. The staff were helpful in giving travel directions and guidance for dining. Special mention goes to Sabrina, Monica, and duty managers Meagan and Mark. On our second night, we were surprisingly disturbed from our sleep by mosquitoes in the room, which were duly taken care of the next morning. The room, which has been refurbished, is clean, and housekeeping was excellent. The shower is sufficiently strong and adequate. For breakfast, you can experience Mr MO (around the middle block) or Baccomatto Osteria, which is linked to the hotel. We did breakfast at Mr MO, and at Four ate Five along Crown St, and dinner at Bacc

Felt like we were at the public pool. You can smell chlorine and a loud echo of kids playing in the pool from the hotel room. Really weird!
