We requested a room with easy access due to my partner being in a recent car accident and on crutches. We were assured an easy access room close to reception with wide doorways and an accessible bathroom instead we were put down a long hallway and the bathroom was very difficult to access for him.

Major upgrade
Room size are great, but serously need a massive upgrade from the appearance of the rooms, more supportive beds, as I feel they are quite old, just needs to be brought up to 2016, & not 1980'

Rude staff and poor quality. Will never return.
On arrival into our room I noticed it was quite stuffy in the room and little airflow. I opened the back door however as our room was resort side and was facing the carpark it was not getting much breeze so I turned the air conditioner on to cool down the room. I then noticed it was blowing hot air. I rang reception and spoke to a rude staff member who told me the air conditioners were set to hot air as it was winter (it was actually Spring). When I asked how to get some air flow in the room it was suggested to me to leave the door open all night. So throughout the night, we were kept awake by a screaming guest out on their balcony, cars coming and going from the carpark and heavy rain (as to which we had to close the door anyway to avoid the curtains getting wet) and therefore were still left hot and muggy. The food was also terrible/overpriced and the bathrooms were outdated and not clean. Will never return.

Neat but tired
Bathroom is old & needs updating. It was clean but hasn't aged well. Needs better soundproofing from noisy people in the hallway.

Bargain
Left Newcastle late Saturday afternoon heading to The Gold Coast. Only made it as far as Coffs Harbour before fatigue set in, so we jumped onto Hotelscombined and got a great deal. Normally $212 per night but we jagged it for only $113 per night. Perfect. We ate in the restaurant and had a lovely meal at very reasonable prices. The room was clean and very big, over 36sqm. Had a nice bath with a shower over it and was very clean. My only small complaint was that the bed was a bit too hard but I was so tired it didn't bother me as much as it did the wife. Also, it is a little way out of the middle of town All in all a very pleasant (cheap) stay.

Overrated Hotel and misleading
I guess we expected this hotel to have a bit more and seeing the name Beachfront Opal Cove, it gave the impression it was on the beach however it was far from it and there were no good view of the beach either. The staff were very friendly. To get to the rooms, it took quite a long time through small corridors which was far from reception area and other facilities. The hotel needs to build a faster access route to get to and from rooms. It wasnt far to drive a nearby town to eat as the food at the hotel was average!
