Absolutely Wonderful”
Absolute Sanctuary was such a chill hotel that we encountered a sort of culture shock going into Chaweng despite many previous trips to Samui. We saw a couple of families with children, but they seemed well behaved; unlike what you see in many other hotels. The facilites were clean and well-kept. The room was comfortable with interesting decor, although the bed was a bit too firm and we did not feel as rested as we would have liked. The food and beverages, although pricey were very tasty and nutritious. Speed and correctness of dinner orders was a bit inconsistent. Yoga classes were fabulous and the one week unlimited package was a great value. Harreson and Marc are wonderful yoga instructors and Absolute provided a good mix of yoga classes. Overall, the entire staff at Absolute Sanctuary were friendly and accommodating...thanks to all! What an amazing stay!

healthy place for a break”
My experience tells you to book the accommodation for Absolute Sanctuary by Agoda. As I arrived at Absolute Sanctuary - as the room was ready - I was surprised because I got a Suite, an upgrade! If you want book a special Therapy or private yoga lessons ask direct to the Therapist and yoga teacher. They know better say have space in time to do this. My Therapies and private yoga were great! The food in the restaurant is very delicate, they are serving quality healthy food, it's a good place if you have gluten sensitives. Minus of my experience is that not all of the young staff you can meet at the reception too aren't well educated. I would like to come back to Absolute Sanctuary.

Absolute Sanctuary 22/12/09-01/01/10”
The hotel easily lived up to my expectations. There was a very friendly greeting on arrival, together with a god overview of the facilities and programmes the resort had to offer. I liked the 'al fresco' reception area. The layout of the resort (five blocks of 2-story rooms around a central pool area and gardens) was pleasant, and the essentially Mediterranean architecture interesting and, I would imagine, unique on Kho Samui. The rooms were comfortable, but perhaps slightly small, especially for guests wishing to practice yoga in their rooms! More decoration/paintings or wall-hangings in the rooms might improve the look a little. I found the whole resort complex very tranquil, which was just what I needed! The staff, including all the managers of the various hotel departments, were extremely polite and helpful and dealt with enquiries in a very efficient and friendly way. The food served in the 'Love Kitchen' was generally very good. I was on a non-detox programme, so I could eat what I wanted from the menu. I especially enjoyed the Moroccan lentil soup and Gado Gado. But the restaurant is perhaps not likely to compete with some of the other excellent restaurants on Kho Samui. The breakfasts for non-detoxers were very good and filling, but there could have been a bit more variety. I was a complete beginner to yoga and pilates, but thoroughly enjoyed the classes held by the excellent teachers there. Some of the classes were tough, but relaxed enough for you to go at your own pace. The massages were superb and did me a great deal of good! I felt the masseurs really knew what they were doing. Overall, my impressions of the resort are excellent. I would recommend it to anyone wishing to escape the rigours of high stress jobs and life-styles. I didn't want to leave after ten days and will certainly be going back, hopefully sooner rather than later!!

I'm ABSOLUTELY going again!”
I was in Samui for a month and decided to check out some of the spas. I spent a day driving around the island checking them out. Absolute was so nice. Even from the moment we walked on to the grounds you could feel a difference in the air. It’s a beautiful hotel, and the staff make you feel very welcome, all were very friendly and attentive. The room was also nicely furnished and had a great view of the pool and sea. The love kitchen was so good! The food was very healthy and went well with the detox program I decided to do. The spa was also great. I could use the steam sauna as much as I wanted throughout the day. They gave me a good explanation of the detox sampler program I wanted try. The massages were also very good. They were more on the Thai side of a massage, then on the Swedish side. But very good. I’m planning my next trip now to do a full 7 day detox & cleanse program in December....I loved absolute!

Incredible!”
If you are looking for a 'relaxing retreat-resort' away from all the tourism, this is the perfect place. Absolute Sanctuary is unique and absolutely beautiful. After a day of activities, shopping, or sight-seeing, it's a fantastic place to come back to for relaxation. They have yoga classes and spa treatment, and I thoroughly enjoyed their very healthy meals. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Even though you need to plan ahead for transportation to get to Bo Phut, Chaweng or anywhere else, it's not too far of a taxi ride.

Absolute Sanctuary”
Absolute sanctuary is a good choice for those looking for a detox / yoga holiday. The hotel is very clean, nicely decorated, and a friendly staff. It is in a quiet area not far from the animated areas. The pool is great and makes up for not being located on the beach. I got a much better price by booking with Agoda, compared to the hotel's website.

Relaxing, Helping and Caring atmosphere”
It was a get away trip for me, alone. The staffs are very nice and friendly. The food was GREAT! Healthy Yet Delish!! They are very caring. From the phone, Khun Jeejee assisted with all information and sent confirmation and detail via email to arrange the airport transfer. Moreover, Khun Rose assisted my boyfriend to manage to surprise me for some packages offered there. Khun Ta and Khun Phai, plus all the Guy Conciege are very helpful and informative of Samui. At Love Kitchen, the Man Manager is very nice and carried the tray of food and dessert for room service for me by himself! Plus the Woman Manager is very nice. Though some improvement on the waiting times might be great. The Juice Bar guy (who speaks Thai quite fast) whom I called at night time, also delivered me the menu and waited for me to order in front of my room; and came back with what I ordered. (I apologize that I couldn't remember all the names) Jana, the yoga teacher is very caring and professional; I enjoyed her Restorative and Yin Yoga classes. Marco also is very energetic and caring during his Sunrise Walk and Aqua Power class. Kru Nok, the pilates teacher, offered great pilates reformer classes and possesses proficient English. The free workshops they have in which I attended; William: Ego and Enneagram and also Alena's Chakra Balance Therapy are the introduction BUT still very informative and knowledgeable. I was very glad I had chances to attend. They also offer free rides to Cheong Mon Beach and Central Festival (Chaweang Beach) 3 times each, per day that you can book and enjoy the town! It was a very exceptional peaceful and lovely 4D3N time for me. Definitely, will come back!

Perfect place to hide/relax/re-energize”
Holistic and aromatic aura and mature patrons who respect everyone's privacy, share facilities without major complaint. Location is away from beach or shopping areas, GREAT! Only a short taxi ride away, keeps the screaming, yelling, dirty and drunken or smoking kids and adult away! Food healthy, and most personal are trained well in customer service. Therapy and exercise packages PRICEY and NOT refundable/transferable, Wish they made that clear in orientation to hotel. Best check that ALL ACCOUNTABLE items are made clear when you check in, had a "misunderstanding" about a beach bag we never saw. Overall, a wonderful quiet place to relax, rejunvinate and receive holistic therapy. Massages are MUCH CHEAPER elsewhere and the Execise room a closet. But enjoyed my stay and will recommend for mature patrons wanting a VERY clean place to relax. Pool GREAT!!!

Sanctuary on the hillside...”
I came from a different fitness retreat on the island. The staff at Absolute were MUCH friendlier than the place I was at before. I didn't sign up for the pilates or fitness programs but they did have a gym where I spent some time and a couple of times a week they offer a free program - I took a thai class, towel folding class and a kickboxing class. I heard from other guests that their fitness classes were great. I found their restaurant had a lot of western options - if you like that sort of thing. Their juices were delicious.

Great hotel if you need a healthy break”
This is not a place for everyone as it is health-oriented - no smoking or alcohol on the premises. If you want to do a detox and drink healthy juices, do yoga, and get massages, this is the place for you. I've gone twice now and would easily go again in the future. The staff is all very thoughtful and sweet and the vibe of the whole place is almost otherworldly. Only complaint is that going back to the "real world" is a little bit of a shock to the system! Even if you don't like "healthy" or vegetarian food, you'll like what they serve you here - it's fantastic and very fresh. Enjoy the coconut water straight from the coconut!

Relaxing Yoga retreat”
absolute sanctuary is a well managed detox hotel. even though it's beautiful it lacks soul. i stayed there because of the yoga studio, which was great. i also heard that the detox program is good.

Good if you want to be away from everythib”
The location isn't really near any of the action, which I guess makes sense with the name absolute sanctuary. The two issues we had were that the steam room was broken during our entire trip and they served us a dish with nuts even though we told them my wife is allergic.

Fabulously relaxing”
Very calm and pleasant environment, the hotel exudes relaxation. The yoga classes and spa were fantastic, and spending a few hours reading by the pool each day was a great way to unwind and leave stress of work etc completely. The restaurant was truly amazing and healthy. Would reccommend to everyone if you are after a healthy, relaxing holiday.

A good Time...stretching and sunbathing”
I had a wonderful time there, Ansolute was just what I was looking for. Let me clear though I wasn't wanting to go out at night or drink. There is no alcohol on the premises, so you'll have to go out. The kithchen isn't 24 hours so plan ahead. The yoga and the pool were fabulous and the room was wonderful and comfortable. However, I got it on special through Agoda, the regular rates would be overpriced as you could probably stay on the beach for the same amount and then rent a motorbike to drive yourself for yoga. Ask about their travelor's special on yoga rates as well if you plan on doing 4 or more classes then get the one week unlimited pass for 1900 baht. You'll save money. Make sure to order something with hummus if you like hummus, it was fabulous. I had several meals there and was delighted with all of them. Not really much Thai food though. Down the main road is Bongo's and it has more traditional Thai food for 60-100 baht a plate.

Great place to unwind, relax and focus on wellbeing!”
The meditation, yoga and Pilates reformer classes were great. Spa treatments were very good and I was impressed with the body scrub and multiple massages I had. The therapists I encountered were well trained and did a wonderful job. I personally didn't do any of the detox programmes but chose to book classes and treatments separately to my accommodation which worked out surprisingly affordable. Room wasn't flash but still very nice and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone needing some real rest and relaxation.

Wonderful place”
a very healthy atmosphere, whether you're just looking to relax or want to go through a full detox. i found the rooms a bit less luxurious than described, but still extremely comfortable. the food is fantastic and the spa treatments are all really good, regardless of therapist.

A really lovely place to stay.”
i was very comfortable in my room. it's a lovely setting with a 'special' atmosphere for relaxing. the staff are very friendly and the food in the restaurant is excellent. it's a bit far from everything but they do offer a free shuttle to take you into town.

nice if you do detox”
The staff are very nice here and they do their best to accommodate the guests. That was a very nice feature of staying here. This is not a place to stay if you want to relax in the room or on the balcony -- it's just not comfortable. The lighting is poor, there aren't enough chairs for guests on the balcony (and the chairs are not comfortable, and the room in general is not decorated well (looks like a university dormitory). There are also no places to hang out and relax in other parts of the hotel. The pool area is nice but it's blazing hot outside with no option for shade. Yoga studio is nice and wireless internet pretty fast and free. It's far from the beach so you need some sort of transport. The food is nice and healthy in the restaurant but options are limited.

A real disappointment and rip-off”
The staff at reception, in bookings and a few in the wellness office were inattentive, would nod when they didn't understand the requests made in full and wouldn't demonstrate accountability. It seems there was no common sense and initiative and many of the guests commented on inflexibility and poor communication when I was there. This started right from the booking of the detox program and second week's stay at absolute on a continuing health program. When I was due to check in to my room just before starting the second week of my program, the manager gave the go=ahead to eject my suitcases from the room in the afternoon because they hadn't received payment! I can't believe how unceremonious these people are and money-obsessed. You don't mistreat a client that way when they've been paying for a week-long program already! Too many issues to list, but it was a stressful, insulting, frustrating and wasted time over there. Only one of the supervisors was decent and tried to make amends, but most of the staff were making fun of these situations and the majority didn't care to respect my limits for patience and tolerance at every ineptitude that arose since day 2 through the first week and again right at the end of my 2nd week. Never staying here again despite the restaurant serving quality healthy food and the juice bar staff being helpful, easy-going and friendly. The resident was kind to give me chiropractic adjustments during my initial consult and the trainers are all nice and competent, but the management's focus on money and complete disregard for guests being compromised is just inappropriate and ridiculous.

Beautiful scenery, healthy environment”
this is not a place for people wishing to drink and party for their holiday, but it makes for a fantastic relaxing getaway spot. the spaces are all lovely and well maintained - yoga studios, restaurant and pool bar, the spa - everything is geared toward your comfort. the menu is focused on the healthier side of eating - lots of vegan and vegetarian items, as well as a lot of raw food - but everything tastes fantastic and makes you feel great eating it. weight loss wasn't a specific goal of my visit, but i ended up losing several pounds when i opted to do a 3 day juice-based detox.
